Another one here from my client keeley. I just want to use this post to show some appreciation to her and to show just how proud I am of what she has achieved in such a short space of time. It’s makes me incredibly proud of what I do when I see this and it’s things like this which makes me absolutely love my job. To see people progress and become fitter, healthier, happier week by week is so satisfying. Keeley. Thank you for the hard work you have put in. You’ve earned it. Keep pushing and never give in

Client spotlight

A huge shoutout to my client keeley who has lost 4 stone 6lbs in just 6 months!!

Keeley came to me 6 months ago wanting to get back into a routine after a long, long time away from exercise and aiming to achieve weight loss aswell as gaining fitness. She had doubts about what she could achieve due to problems with her thyroid. But just look at what she has achieved. Not only has she dropped over 4 stone, her resting heart rate has lowered from fairly high to 52 BPM!! This goes to show how much effort she has been putting in

In our sessions we focus highly on HIIT training as well as lots of boxing. Keeley aslo comes to the gym almost every day on her own on top of this focusing on weight training and running. She has one rest day a week and doesn’t follow any strict diet. I have given her nutritional advice and she just watches what she eats whilst staying highly accountable for the decisions she makes when deciding what to eat.

And we aren’t done yet!! We’ve only just begun

Anything is possible and anything can be achieved if you put your mind to it. Work hard, stay accountable and wake up every day with the desire to achieve and I promise you, you will reach your goal.

Boxing is such a great way to get fit, lose weight and tone up without even realising you’re exercising. Time flies by as you’re always thinking about what you have to do and you’re always learning too.

Working on some boxing basics today with my client Alison. Working on getting more rotation into every motion, moving and punching. Boxing all works on a rotational axis of getting your body weight backwards and forwards and this is where the power in the punches come from. A lot of people think boxing is primarily in your arms but the majority of the power actually comes from your legs and hips. You want to imagine whipping your hips and whipping your shoulders too which will be a follow on effect of using your hips to increase power in your punches.

Alison has only had 4 boxing sessions so far and she has picked it up amazingly well. Top work Alison 👍🏼

It’s important to do what makes you happy in life. Nothing is worth it if you don’t enjoy the process. Personally, I enjoy hiking mountains and camping up them. Do I do it for the fitness? Not at all it’s just a great bi product of something I love.

Find your passion and use it to your strengths to achieve your goal.

Everyone has their own personal mountain to climb. I just enjoy sleeping at the top of them 🤙🏼

Huge shoutout to my client James. He is 6.5 stone down since starting the keto diet (high fats, moderate protein, very low carbs) down from a 44” waist to a 36” waist and gone from
###L clothing to L. Every session he puts 110% in. We have focused heavily on HIIT training and CrossFit style workouts to optimise results and never leaving the gym until we have hit 1000 active calories. That’s a hell of an effort!!

Anything is possible if you put your mind to it. Hard work and consistency breeds results.

Sometimes it’s hard to know where to start when you are at the beginning of your fitness journey. So here’s a quick guide on how I recommend you should approach this

1. Identify your primary objective. Do you want to get fit? Do you want to lose weight? Do you want to gain muscle? Is it all of the above?

2. Create a plan of action. Thinking about it is going to get you no where. Create a plan which suits your lifestyle and is specific to your goal. Don’t be hitting 5 weight sessions a week if your goal is to get fitter and lose weight. Try making your plan more cardio based if this is your goal. If you want to add muscle. Weight training should your priority

3. Get started. Now you have identified what you want to achieve it’s time to put it into practice

4. Make this your lifestyle. Goals should not be reached to then give up on once you have got there. Once you have reached your goal. Create a new one. Always aim to improve no matter how high you reach

If you are still unsure about how to start or struggle with the motivation to start. Hire a coach. People like my self are here to help people like you. Having a coach not only starts you off in the right direction but you are also more likely to carry on progressing when you have reached your current goal. We are here to set you new goals in the future and help you realise your true potential
