Mother’s Day was celebrated with warmth and heartfelt appreciation in our care home as we honoured the wonderful mothers, grandmothers and mother figures who are such a cherished part of our community. It was a day dedicated to recognising their love, strength and the incredible role they have played in so many lives, creating a truly meaningful celebration for everyone involved💐 💟

The day began with a lovely surprise from our activities team member Sarah, who went around the home with her trolley to personally wish each lovely resident a very Happy Mother’s Day. Every lady received a thoughtful Mother’s Day poem along with a bright daffodil and a delicious chocolate, a small gesture that brought plenty of smiles and warm moments to start the day🌼🍫

In the afternoon the celebrations continued with a delightful afternoon tea party where residents gathered together in a beautifully decorated room filled with cheerful conversation and laughter. Everyone enjoyed a selection of delicious scones and cakes while spending quality time together, sharing stories and reminiscing about treasured memories☕🍰

Moments like these remind us how important it is to celebrate the remarkable women in our care, creating opportunities for connection, joy and appreciation. A heartfelt thank you goes to everyone who helped make the day so special and memorable for our residents. Wishing all mothers everywhere a very Happy Mother’s Day filled with love and happiness 💟

This afternoon our lounge was full of excitement as residents came together for a lively game of Just Bowl. Dolly, Janet, Phyllis and Von all took part and played wonderfully, enjoying every moment of the friendly competition and cheering each other on after every turn. The room was filled with smiles, laughter and plenty of encouragement, making it a truly enjoyable afternoon for everyone involved💜

Each player gave it their best shot and showed fantastic team spirit throughout the game. Activities like this are such a great way for residents to stay active, share some light hearted competition and enjoy time together with friends💜

A very big congratulations goes to Phyllis, who was absolutely thrilled to be crowned the champion of the afternoon and proudly take home the trophy. Her winning moment brought lots of applause and celebration from everyone watching 🏆💜

Unfortunately, we’ve had to cancel our sheep visit planned for this Friday.

The sheep had a little accident last night and, although they’re thankfully not seriously hurt, they’ll need some time to rest and recover before they’re ready for visits.

The animals’ wellbeing always comes first, so we’ll be rescheduling the visit once they’re fully recovered. As soon as we have a new date, we’ll share an update.

Thank you to everyone who showed interest in our event. We look forward to welcoming you when our fluffy friends are feeling better 🐑

📖✨ A Wonderful World Book Day at Our Care Home ✨📖

This morning our care home was filled with excitement, laughter and the magic of storytelling as we celebrated World Book Day together. The children from St. Michael's C of E Primary School came to visit us, proudly dressed as their favourite book characters, bringing colour, creativity and lots of cheerful energy into our home💜

During their visit the children shared a lovely book together, brought a story to life by acting it out and then spent special one to one time reading storybooks with our residents Ron, David, Phyllis, Janet, Von, Anthony, Margaret and Dolly. It was such a heart-warming moment to see different generations coming together to enjoy the simple joy of reading and sharing stories! 📚💜

There were smiles all around, plenty of laughter and many wonderful conversations as residents and children enjoyed the stories side by side. Visits like this mean so much to everyone here and create truly special memories for our residents 💜

A big thank you to St Michael’s School for taking the time to visit us and for making World Book Day such a brilliant and meaningful morning for everyone in our care home. We loved every moment! 💜📖

Today’s trip out was a real treat for John, Von, Phyllis and Dolly, who were all smiles from the moment we arrived 😄

At Dobbies ,in Hungerford, John enjoyed taking his time exploring the outdoor plants and chatting about his favourite flowers, while Von and Phyllis loved browsing the bright spring clothing and admiring the colourful seasonal displays. Dolly particularly enjoyed walking through the floral section, stopping to take in the beautiful arrangements and fresh scents. The group shared stories, pointed out their favourite finds and fully embraced the uplifting atmosphere of spring🌸🌿

After our browse, we made our way to The Swan where the four residents sat together for a relaxed and enjoyable lunch supervised by our wonderful activities coordinator Teresa.
They each chose meals they fancied, savouring every bite while chatting and laughing together. The conversation flowed easily as they shared memories, spoke about the morning’s highlights and simply enjoyed each other’s company. It was wonderful to see them so engaged, content and making the most of their time out together🍽️😊

Outings like this are so important, offering not just a change of scenery but opportunities for independence, social connection and shared experiences. Today was filled with fresh air, friendship and fabulous food, a truly special day for John, Von, Phyllis and Dolly💐✨

Janet, Phyllis and Von have been hard at work at Arts & Crafts Club, getting our home ready for St Patrick’s Day in the most creative way! ☘️

During a relaxed and laughter-filled afternoon in our activities lounge, the ladies carefully painted bright green four-leaf clovers, adding their own unique touches to each design. From choosing the perfect shades of green to adding fine details and a little sparkle, every clover was made with care and pride.✨🎨

The session wasn’t just about painting , it was about friendship, conversation, and sharing stories, with plenty of giggles along the way. The finished clovers will be transformed into beautiful handmade bunting, proudly displayed around our home so everyone can enjoy their festive creations 😊

Activities like this are a wonderful way to encourage creativity, support fine motor skills, and most importantly, create special moments together. We are so proud of their hard work and can’t wait to see their decorations brighten up our St Patrick’s Day celebrations 🍀✨

Well done Ladies- your artwork looks absolutely fantastic! 💚✨
