Our home was filled with colour, creativity, and joyful energy as our amazing residents came together to design their very own Easter eggs. Surrounded by friends and a warm, welcoming atmosphere, the session became a wonderful celebration of togetherness and self expression, where every moment was shared with smiles and laughter 🌸

With paintbrushes in hand and imaginations flowing, residents embraced the opportunity to decorate their eggs in their own unique way. From soft pastel shades to bold and vibrant patterns, each creation reflected not only creativity but also personality, making every piece truly special and meaningful🎨

The room came alive with conversation, shared ideas, and lighthearted laughter as memories were made throughout the afternoon. It was more than just an arts and crafts session, it was a chance to connect, to express joy, and to celebrate the spirit of Easter in a way that brought everyone closer together🐣

We are so grateful to everyone who took part and helped make the afternoon so memorable. The pride and happiness seen in every finished creation was truly heartwarming, and we cannot wait to display these beautiful designs for all to admire 💟

As spring continues to blossom around us, we look forward to creating even more special moments like this, filled with warmth, creativity, and the simple joy of being together🌷

Happy April Fools' Day from us all at Hungerford Care Home

We kicked off the morning by handing out a very “special” activity planner, featuring things like a silent sing-along and a wheelchair race which definitely got a few laughs once everyone realised the date!

But the fun didn’t stop there… we managed to catch out our maintenance man with some “runny water” 🚽 (a few strategically placed bottles did the trick!), and even gave our deputy manager Amy a bit of a scare with reports of a “mouse in the house”… which turned out to be a computer mouse 🖱️

There's been lots of laughter, smiles and a few good pranks along the way... only the best way to spend the day together 🎉

We had such a lovely day out at Studley Grange Butterfly World and Farm Park 🦋🌿.

Susan, Von and Dolly enjoyed meeting the animals, feeding the goats and stopping to watch the pigs, before heading over to Butterfly World. It was really special seeing all the butterflies up close 🦋✨

We had lunch in the café which was the perfect way to end a brilliant outing 💜 There were so many smiles, laughs and special moments together and days like this are what it’s all about 🥰

At Hungerford Care Home, we love to create meaningful experiences, encouraging connection with nature, and supporting our residents to enjoy fulfilling and joyful days out in the community. It was definitely a day to remember!

🥤 What a fantastic and feel good week we had celebrating Nutrition and Hydration Week here at the home, filled with colour, creativity, and plenty of delicious treats along the way!

The week began with Milkshake Monday, where our lovely residents enjoyed freshly made shakes, full of flavour and goodness. There were smiles all around as everyone sipped and shared their favourites, setting the tone for a week focused on both health and happiness 🥛

As Tuesday arrived, the home turned wonderfully green in celebration of All Green Tuesday and St Patrick’s Day. Residents enjoyed healthy green snacks and refreshing juices, with plenty of laughter as everyone embraced the theme and got into the spirit of the day ☘️🥝

Midweek brought a touch of sweetness with fun jelly treats, adding a playful moment that had everyone smiling and reminiscing about favourite desserts from years gone by 🍮

We rounded off the week with a vibrant Fruity Friday, bursting with colourful fresh fruits that were as delicious as they were refreshing. Residents gathered together, chatting and enjoying the variety, making it the perfect ending to a joyful week 🍍

It has been such a wonderful opportunity to promote healthy choices in a fun and engaging way, bringing everyone together through shared experiences, laughter, and feel good moments. We loved every minute of it and here are just a few snapshots from our celebrations 📸💫

🎉 What a fun-filled day it has been at our care home with Ron enjoying our brand-new giant Kerplunk game!

The moment the game was set up, excitement buzzed through the room. Ron carefully focused on each move, a mix of concentration and anticipation lighting up his face as he played alongside Sarah from our activities team. Every stick that fell was met with laughter, playful cheers, and the shared thrill of friendly competition 😊

As the game went on, other residents joined in to watch, cheer, and offer tips, turning a simple classic into a lively moment of connection, joy, and teamwork. It was heart-warming to see how a familiar game could spark so much happiness, laughter, and friendly banter 💟

This afternoon reminded us that the simplest activities can create the most magical memories, full of smiles, focus, and togetherness 💫

What a joyful St. Patrick's Day celebration we shared together ☘️💚

Our lovely residents enjoyed a truly fantastic afternoon, filled with music, laughter, and a wonderful sense of togetherness. We were delighted to welcome Tony Collins , whose beautiful violin playing and warm vocals brought the room to life 🎻🎶 As he performed much-loved Irish favourites like “Cockles and Mussels” and “Danny Boy,” smiles spread across every face and the atmosphere became something truly special.

There was plenty of toe-tapping, clapping, and even a little dancing as everyone joined in, creating moments of pure joy and connection. The room itself was transformed with festive decorations, capturing the spirit of the day and making the celebration feel even more magical ✨

As the day also fell during Nutrition and Hydration Week, we embraced a fun “Green Tuesday” theme, adding a healthy twist to the festivities. After all the excitement, residents relaxed and enjoyed a selection of refreshing treats, including nutritious green snacks and juices 🥒🍏 which were thoroughly enjoyed by all.

It was a day full of happiness, music, and meaningful moments, a beautiful reminder of how coming together can create memories that truly last ☘️

Mother’s Day was celebrated with warmth and heartfelt appreciation in our care home as we honoured the wonderful mothers, grandmothers and mother figures who are such a cherished part of our community. It was a day dedicated to recognising their love, strength and the incredible role they have played in so many lives, creating a truly meaningful celebration for everyone involved💐 💟

The day began with a lovely surprise from our activities team member Sarah, who went around the home with her trolley to personally wish each lovely resident a very Happy Mother’s Day. Every lady received a thoughtful Mother’s Day poem along with a bright daffodil and a delicious chocolate, a small gesture that brought plenty of smiles and warm moments to start the day🌼🍫

In the afternoon the celebrations continued with a delightful afternoon tea party where residents gathered together in a beautifully decorated room filled with cheerful conversation and laughter. Everyone enjoyed a selection of delicious scones and cakes while spending quality time together, sharing stories and reminiscing about treasured memories☕🍰

Moments like these remind us how important it is to celebrate the remarkable women in our care, creating opportunities for connection, joy and appreciation. A heartfelt thank you goes to everyone who helped make the day so special and memorable for our residents. Wishing all mothers everywhere a very Happy Mother’s Day filled with love and happiness 💟

Unfortunately, we’ve had to cancel our sheep visit planned for this Friday.

The sheep had a little accident last night and, although they’re thankfully not seriously hurt, they’ll need some time to rest and recover before they’re ready for visits.

The animals’ wellbeing always comes first, so we’ll be rescheduling the visit once they’re fully recovered. As soon as we have a new date, we’ll share an update.

Thank you to everyone who showed interest in our event. We look forward to welcoming you when our fluffy friends are feeling better 🐑
