The Old Vicarage We are a high quality residential care home providing support for adults with learning disabilities, challenging behaviours and mental health issues.

The Old Vicarage is a large house, parts of which date back to the 17th Century (it has a Grade 2 listing). It is situated in a residential setting close to the centre of the picturesque town of Hungerford. The Old Vicarage is registered for 12 service users and is currently home for 10 people of mixed gender. The main house has eight spacious rooms and the annexes provide two single self contained properties and a further two bedroomed self contained property. The home was previously used as the vicarage for St Lawrence’s, the parish church of Hungerford next door and was converted to a home for adults with learning disabilities in 2001.

We are pleased to share that we have joined Cygnet Group.

Bryn Y Wawr and Clynsaer, two specialist care services in Carmarthenshire, together with The Old Vicarage in Berkshire, are now operated and managed by Cygnet Social Care.

Gareth Williams, CEO of Cygnet Social Care: “We look forward to working with the dedicated staff teams to build on their success and the difference they have made already to their residents. Together, we will continue to provide exceptional care to some of the most vulnerable members of our society, helping them to lead happy, fulfilled lives in environments where they feel safe, valued, and supported.”
