This morning a group of us set off down to the Godmanchester rememberance service to pay our respects ❤️

Betty, Nancy, Edna, Raymond, Yvonne and Jeannette helped us lay down a wreath on behalf of everyone at saxon manor.

Thank you to Carol, Richard and Hannah for coming in on their day off to make sure residents could get down to the memorial.

Thank you to Meg for helping us not get lost and for taking time to walk with us!

And a special thank you to those who volunteered to help be an extra pair of hands!

Without teamwork important moments like this wouldn’t be possible 🌟

Next time you’re in Boston suite make sure to check out our new activity station! 🌟

We have an autumnal themed engagement box with pictures, question prompts, poetry and sensory items! 🍁

The rest of the book case features reminiscence books on life in the 50s and 60s, twiddly muffs and a puzzle and aqua paint set! 📚🖌️

We would like to encourage both visitors and staff to have a rummage and use these with our residents to prompt memories and discussion! 💬

Complete with hot chocolates, glow sticks and a lot of screaming with excitement whenever we were lucky to see a firework… sorry neighbours! 🫣☕️🌟

The residents told us they’d had lots of fun and one resident Nick said “I haven’t done something like this in years” with a big smile on his face 💓💓
