Grade 3 Tear After Childbirth: What You Need to Know to Exercise Confidently
I often get approached by postnatal mums who are worried because they had a tear during childbirth.
Tears are very common with vaginal deliveries, and when a tear occurs, it is normally assigned a โgradeโ. Many women are told they had a grade 3 tear and are left feeling frightened or unsure what this means for their recovery or long-term pelvic floor health.
The grading system is useful, but it doesnโt tell the whole story about how your pelvic floor is working now.
