Betty, a resident at The Ferns Care Centre in North Shields, is celebrating an incredible 103rd birthday – what a remarkable milestone! 🎉🎂

Although The Ferns is not one of our sister homes, we wanted to send our heartfelt congratulations and best wishes on such a wonderful occasion. Our residents thoroughly enjoyed designing and decorating the cards, adding their own personal messages filled with kindness and cheer.

Happy 103rd Birthday, Betty! 🥳 Wishing you a day filled with love, laughter, and lots of cake! 💕

This afternoon we had a fantastic time hosting our very own Hunters Arms Pub Quiz! 🍻🧠

Everyone thoroughly enjoyed putting their thinking caps on and taking part in the general knowledge quiz, all while sipping on their drink of choice and soaking up the lovely pub-style atmosphere. There was plenty of laughter, friendly competition, and a few tricky questions to keep us on our toes!

A big congratulations to Jean, who scored an impressive 32 out of 40 and took the top spot this afternoon – what an achievement! 👏🏆

Well done to everyone who joined in and made it such a fun and lively afternoon. We’re already looking forward to the next quiz! 😊

🐾☕ What a pawsome morning at our Canine Coffee Morning!

Everyone had a lovely time meeting a couple of adorable new furry friends who brought plenty of smiles, cuddles, and wagging tails along with them. Everyone enjoyed relaxing with a slice of cake and a drink of their choice while chatting and soaking up the joyful atmosphere.

We also made sure to include those who couldn’t attend by doing a few special room visits, sharing the cuddles and canine charm throughout the home. 🐶💛

It was a heartwarming morning filled with companionship, sweet treats, and lots of happy moments!

What a fantastic afternoon we had enjoying the wonderful performance from Lesley Ann and Katie Rose! 🎶✨

The room was filled with music, laughter, and plenty of dancing as everyone sang along to their favourite tunes. Many couldn’t resist getting up to boogie and show off their best dance moves – it was such a joy to see! 💃🕺

We especially loved the old-time sing-along, which brought back so many happy memories. From classic favourites to lively numbers, they truly performed a bit of everything, making sure there was something for everyone to enjoy.

Thank you, Lesley Ann and Katie Rose, for such an uplifting and entertaining afternoon – we can’t wait to have you back again! 🎤🎵

Everyone had a wonderful time enjoying bingo this afternoon! It was such a lovely session filled with laughter, friendly competition, and plenty of socialising as we all spent time together.

A special mention to Jean M, who kindly shared her fruit snacks with everyone while we played — such a sweet and thoughtful gesture that made the afternoon even more special. 💛

We had a lovely morning today as everyone gathered for a Church Service led by Rev Geoff Boucher, joined by friends from St Mary the Virgin Church. The lounge was beautifully full as everyone came together to sing hymns, pray, and share in a moment of peace and reflection.

It was heartwarming to see so many smiling faces and to hear voices joining in song. People living in the home especially enjoyed chatting with members of the Church community afterwards, sharing stories and warm conversations.

For those who were unable to attend the service, Rev Geoff kindly visited them in their rooms, where they spent time chatting and sharing prayers together — a truly thoughtful and comforting gesture.

Thank you to Rev Geoff and our friends from St Mary the Virgin Church for bringing such comfort, joy, and connection into our home. 💛🙏✨

🎪✨ Upswing Circus Skills Fun This Afternoon! ✨🎪

We had a fantastic time this afternoon as everyone got involved in our circus skills session! Everyone had the chance to try out a variety of fun tricks, including juggling balls, balancing peacock feathers, juggling scarves, and even a few hat tricks.

We started the session by getting to know each other’s names as we passed a ball around the room — a lovely way to break the ice and get everyone smiling. As the afternoon went on, we cheered each other on and were amazed at what people achieved, especially things they didn’t think they could do!

There was lots of laughter, encouragement, and proud moments all around. It was a truly fun and uplifting afternoon for everyone involved. 🎭💫

Such a lovely afternoon with Jenni from Creative Mojo Cambridge & Peterborough! She certainly kept us busy as we each painted our favourite flowers in the colours we love most, brining them together to create one final piece. There was plenty of laughter, lots of creativity and even more concertations as we shared stories about our gardens and the little things we enjoyed most about spending time in them. 💐🌺🎨
