✨ We’re proud to announce our 2026 Entertainment Programme at Danny House ✨

Music, performance and shared moments sit at the heart of life at Danny House, and we’re delighted to unveil a full year of events for 2026 that truly reflect what a lively, creative and welcoming place this is.

The majority of our programme is lovingly curated for our residents, with weekly classical recitals, chamber music, piano evenings, vocal performances and intimate concerts held in our historic Great Hall. These regular events form an important part of daily life here — enriching, social, and something our residents deeply value.

Alongside this, 2026 also includes a handful of special wider events, helping to showcase Danny House as a thriving cultural space:

Invitation-only performances and theatrical productions

Visiting ensembles and themed musical evenings

Guided tours and community visits

Seasonal highlights including our Black Tie Dinner, festive concerts and Christmas celebrations

Ticketed opera performances and larger-scale events enjoyed by residents, families, friends and guests

From baroque ensembles and solo piano recitals to opera, theatre and celebratory gatherings, the programme reflects the breadth, quality and warmth of life at Danny House.

We’re incredibly proud of what’s planned — and of the talented musicians, performers and guests who help make Danny House such a special place to live and visit.

Jazz at Danny House ✨
The Mike Wilson Quintet – Unravelling: Improvisation in Jazz

We’re delighted to welcome The Mike Wilson Quintet to the Great Hall at Danny House for an evening of exploratory, intelligent jazz.

Unravelling places improvisation at the heart of the performance — a live conversation between musicians, unfolding in real time. Expect nuance, interplay, and moments that only happen once, all within the warm acoustics and historic setting of our Great Hall.

As part of our weekly concert series, we were treated to a beautiful harp recital from Keziah Thomas, including Winter (3rd movement) from The Four Seasons by Antonio Vivaldi.

Keziah teaches harp at the Yehudi Menuhin School, and it was a pleasure to welcome her to Danny House for such a refined and atmospheric performance.

Last night we hosted our annual Danny House black tie Christmas dinner in the Great Hall — a truly special evening of wonderful food, entertainment and festive atmosphere, enjoyed together by our residents, their families and our staff.

This is a tradition we look forward to every year: a chance to come together at Christmas, celebrate the season, and enjoy the beautiful surroundings of our Great Hall at its most magical.

A lovely evening, shared by all. ✨🎄

We’re delighted to be welcoming Vivace! to the Great Hall at Danny House on Wednesday 17th December at 7:30pm for a truly special Christmas concert in support of St Peter & St James Hospice.

The Great Hall will be beautifully decorated for the season, creating an enchanting setting for an evening of festive choral music. Vivace! will present a programme crafted especially for Christmas — a warm, atmospheric mix of traditional carols, seasonal classical works, and modern favourites, all performed with the choir’s signature clarity and heart.

Led by Cara Barseghian, Vivace! is known across Sussex for its uplifting performances and for supporting good causes through music. This concert promises to be a beautiful way to step into the festive spirit.

A very special celebration at Danny last week as Marilyn’s loved ones joined her for her 80th birthday.

It’s always a joy to see our residents using the house just as they would their own — filling it with friends, family and happy moments.

Featuring a spacious studio living area, small kitchen, and bathroom with shower, the apartment offers both charm and comfort in a truly historic setting.

Residents at Danny enjoy a beautifully relaxed way of life — with all meals freshly prepared by our in-house chefs, daily housekeeping, heating, lighting, maintenance and council tax included. The 100-acre estate provides peaceful gardens and walking paths, and our small community of around 25 retired residents enjoy concerts, talks, and cultural outings in the Great Hall.
