Why do we sell gold (ish!) in a wellness clinic? ✨

Honestly… because it just makes sense to us.

We’re an acupuncturist-led clinic and gold has a long, meaningful history in Chinese medicine and many other healing traditions. In Chinese medicine, gold is associated with the Metal element — linked to the lungs, clarity, strength, and letting go. It’s seen as something that supports balance, protects energy, and brings a sense of refinement and inner stability. So for us, it’s not just about how it looks (although yes, it’s beautiful), it’s about what it represents too.

At heart, we’re all healers here. Everything we offer is chosen with care, intention, and a genuine desire to help people feel good — inside and out. This felt like a natural extension of that.

We also made sure every piece is waterproof stainless steel and made to last, because we know life isn’t about taking things off — it’s about living in them. So ok, it’s not GOLD gold but it’s as close as we can get for these prices!

And when we looked around, we realised something… the same quality was being sold online for so much more. So we thought, why not bring it here, make it accessible, and offer it at a price that actually feels fair?

Ilfracombe deserves nice things. Simple as that.

So yes, we sell gold… and we love it ✨

25 years ago I went travelling with Sam who is now my husband. We took the slow boat to Laos and met a group of people who we still keep in contact with now. It was a 48 hour trip where we plaited Kerry’s hair and played with her beautiful little boy Harry.

I had finished my first reiki course two days before and felt my whole world had opened up. Then we had this joyous trip.
5 days later my dad died and we had to get home from a very remote part of the world. The beautiful people on that trip, along with my new found knowledge of healing helped me survive a very hard period of my life and have led me to my beautiful practice of acupuncture which has fundamentally altered me as a person and enabled me to help others.

Right now my 18 year old is on the very same boat journey out in Laos and it’s the anniversary of my dad dying in 2 days and also my first Mother’s Day without my mum.

Life has a strange way sometimes of showing you things and for me, this shows the true beauty of our ancestry and lineage, of life’s cycles and the importance of finding tools that help heal us.

Life can be so awful sometimes but in retrospect, we can often see the path that was laid out for us and gain comfort from the fact that from pain can come wonderful things.

She is one of the very best in her field, a trained nurse prescriber who teaches at the prestigious Harley Street Academy in London. What she doesn’t know is not worth knowing.
