UKHSA are providing an update to previous advice regarding contaminated non-sterile alcohol-free wipes in response to continuing detection of cases and a recent death attributable to Burkholderia stabilis infection.

If you witness a cardiac arrest, it is important to call 999 and start CPR straight away.

Perform CPR by placing your hands on the centre of the person’s chest and interlocking your fingers.

Use your body weight to push down 5 to 6cm on their chest.

Repeat this at a rate of 2 per second until the person regains consciousness or an ambulance arrives.

Less than 1 in 10 people survive an out of hospital cardiac arrest. Early access to defibrillation can increase chances of survival.

YAS Charity has partnered with Bradford Central LIONS CLUB - CIO and Bradford Council to supply up to 40 Public Access Defibrillators in the area.
