⚠️ Important Travel Update: Falsified Rabies Vaccines in India 🇮🇳
If you’ve recently travelled to India and received a rabies vaccination or post-exposure treatment, please take a moment to read this important update.
The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) has issued a warning about falsified Abhayrab rabies vaccines (batch KA24014) circulating in India. While this vaccine is not used in the UK, travellers who were vaccinated abroad could have received one or more falsified doses — meaning they may not be fully protected against rabies.
If this applies to you:
🩺 Check your vaccination records – vaccine brand name.
📞 If you received “Abhayrab” or are unsure, please contact us at YPC Health Travel Clinic for review and advice.
💬 We can guide you on whether further vaccination or follow-up is needed, in line with official UKHSA and NaTHNaC guidance.
Rabies is a serious but preventable disease — let’s make sure your protection is genuine and effective before your next adventure. 🌍💉
