Nutrition and Hydration Week 💧🍽️

As we age, staying hydrated and maintaining a healthy, balanced diet becomes even more important. Small, simple steps can make a big difference to overall health and wellbeing in later life.

💧 Hydration
Dehydration is a common concern, especially for those living with dementia. Options like jelly drops can be a great way to support hydration, and flavoured squash can often be more appealing and easier to recognise than plain water. Encouraging regular sips throughout the day can help reduce the risk of infections and even prevent falls.

🍽️ Nutrition
Eating regular meals can become more challenging as routines and appetites change. However, good nutrition is essential, it helps maintain energy levels, supports daily activities, and plays a key role in reducing the risk of falls.

At Home Instead Ilkley, we’re here to support our clients with gentle encouragement, practical solutions, and compassionate care, helping them stay nourished, hydrated, and feeling their best every day.
