Meet Tigger, he is a 5 year old Collie Labrador mix (I think there is a bit of Irish wolfhound in there too 🤔).

He was diagnosed with L1/L2 Acute non-compressive nucleus pulposus extrusion. This means his spinal cord was damaged and his discs were impacted. His left hind limb was particularly affected and he lost some mobility here so we are working to help support his core and build muscle evenly through his hind limbs.

I recommended his guardian that she enlisted the support of Rebeccah Baylis at Little Green Stables

This week we had a joint session where we assessed him in the treadmill then Becky used the ultrasound machine on him to help relieve and stimulate his affected areas.

With the help of Chris's tech skills and Toni's ability to keep Axle focussed we were able to create a 360° video of Axle in the treadmill 👀

This will help me understand his movement from all angles and enable the therapists at the Win Clinic observe and advise me on where we can improve or maintain his form in the water 💦

Since I've just come back from Disney I thought it would be on trend to talk about Sully 💙🩷

Sully is a large mountain breed mix who has recently had a total hip replacement 🦿

He wasn't a mega fan on the treadmill as he couldn't really cope with the confined space 🫪

However we are making great progress in the pool after he watched his sister Bella the Bernese show him how it's done 🏊🦛🐊 🐖

Today we were accompanied by helper dogs too so thank you to:

We worked on engage and disengage games, emotional regulation and choosing alternate behaviors such as hunting and interactive play 👍

I am a registered trainer for the charity Pawsable and last night I attended a Pawsable charity event at the Weston Super Mare Masonic Hall.

I accompanied Gabi Basson and Cosmo to celebrate the work that Pawsable does and the dog teams that benefit so much from the charities support.

I look forward to my continued work with Gabi, Cosmo and many more incredible dog teams in the future 💪🐕‍🦺
