A huge thankโyou to the congregation and friends of Dornoch Firth Church of Scotland, who raised an amazing ยฃ2,626.05 over the Christmas period in support of Mikeysline.
This fantastic total was achieved through four community fundraising events across the parish, each helping not only to raise money but also to spread awareness of the mental health support Mikeysline provides.
Thank you to everyone who supported, performed, donated, or attended - your kindness makes a real difference.

If you fancy a wee Monday treat why not make a bee-line to Harry Gow for a special Mikeysline inspired cupcake?
Throughout March, every penny from the sale of each ยฃ2 bee cupcake goes straight to our grassroots charity - helping us provide our lifeline mental health and su***de prevention services to anyone who needs us.
We truly hope these cakes inspire many meaningful conversations, and we deeply appreciate the support of all the team at Harry Gow.
๐ Weโve been working on something with our friends at Mikeysline and from today, itโs in our all of our shops.
Say hello to our Bee Cupcakes.
Theyโre cheerful. Theyโre covered in sunshine. And theyโre a small reminder that none of us have to face our struggles alone.
Mikeysline does incredible work across the Highlands, offering a safe space to talk when things feel heavy. We wanted to find a way to support that โ in the most Harry Gow way we know how.
Through cake.
So throughout March, when you pick up a Bee Cupcake, youโre not just treating yourself. Youโre backing a local charity that shows up for people every single day.
Theyโre ยฃ2 each, and every penny goes straight to Mikeysline.
If you fancy it, grab one with a friend, take a wee selfie and tag us both using and . Because sometimes a conversation starts with something as simple as, โStick the kettle on.โ
Weโre proud to be doing this together.

TEXTLINE:
The Mikeysline text service was launched in December 2015. We have been supporting the people of the Highlands in their times of need ever since. It was the first of its kind in the UK.
By using a text line, as opposed to a phone line, anonymity is assured. This removes the awkwardness sometimes found in talking with a total stranger. ๐ท1 in 4 people will hang up when they use a phone line, the nerves taking over and sometimes, they arenโt quite able to get the words out. With a text line, this removes that โurgencyโ if you like. A moment can be taken, words can be deleted and time taken to really manage to put it into words how they are feeling.
In this current age of multimedia communications, it is a tragedy to think there are so many still feeling alone, isolated and not able to express their feelings. Weโre here to help.
A common misconception about Mikeysline is that it is only for young people. Thatโs not the case - we cater for all ages, and have been doing so since we were founded.
Our team of volunteers are there for you each and every day. Nobody has all the answers, but what they do have, is an understanding ear and guidance where we can. They do have time to support you when you need it most. Most of all, however, theyโre there for you.
The Hive
The Hive is the Highlandโs first out of hours mental health crisis centre, based at 19 Academy Street, Inverness. This ambitious local initiative provides a safe place to those who are in need of it. Coupled with our text service, the joint aim is to reduce social isolation. We want to help vulnerable people to maintain their mental health on a continuous basis.
The Hive is a place to attend without fear of being judged. It is a place for anyone aged 17 and up to come when they feel lost with nowhere to turn. Our staff and volunteers will lend an ear, be there for you and try to help you get through what you are feeling.
One of the main aims for the Hive is to provide an alternative. Instead of heading home and bottling up emotions, come to the Hive. In place of being trapped inside your own head, second guessing, the Hive is a platform to try and work it out. We promise we will try to help you through it.
We know we wonโt have all the answers โ we donโt profess to be experts. What we do promise is that we are there for you. Sharing your thoughts with an understanding ear can provide a different perspective, as well as the weight it will lift from your shoulders.
We promise you a warm welcome, a hot brew and we WILL listen.
