As Mikeysline proudly marks our 10th year, we’re delighted to celebrate another incredible milestone—10 years in business for one of our long‑standing supporters, Boiler & Valve Engineering in Nairn.
🧑🔧Boiler & Valve Engineering provides specialist heat‑transfer engineering services to organisations across Scotland, and we’re deeply grateful that they use their vehicles to signpost people to Mikeysline’s support services everywhere they go. Since 2017, this amazing team has raised an extraordinary £12,300 to help us deliver emotional support and mental health services across the Highlands, Islands and Moray.
Managing Director Andrew kindly welcomed our own Alistair for a tour and an insightful conversation about their highly specialised work, followed by an open and meaningful discussion around staff wellbeing—something that aligns closely with Mikeysline’s mission to ensure no one feels alone.
We are truly thankful for their ongoing dedication and support and wish them every success for the next 10 years and beyond.

From Fort William to Strontian and Kinlochleven, our recent Hive on the Road visit to Lochaber was met with incredible community spirit.
It was lovely connecting with local partners, including Ewen's Room, Lochaber Pride and High Life Highland, meeting amazing pupils from Ardnamurchan High School and Kinlochleven Primary School, and sharing conversations about mental wellbeing.
A special thank you to Patrick, the Facilities Supervisor, Social Value Lead and Mental Health Champion from Mears Group based at Kinlochleven High School, for his support and awareness raising of Mikeysline in the locality.

This Eating Disorder Awareness Week we're resharing this powerful video from Beat to remind you of something important: you don't have to face this alone.
With connection and community comes hope - together, we can break the stigma, encourage support and remind people that it's ok not to be ok.
Like the shifting seasons, our minds move through winters and springs, but even the darkest phase carries the quiet promise that warmth and growth will return.

Please take a moment to watch this video that was premiered at the Fragments Of Us event held recently in aid of Mikeysline.
Connor wrote this short drama, in memory of his dear pal, Adam, to help highlight men's mental health and explore the emotional impact that follows the devastating loss of a friend.
It's ok not to be ok, and if you feel affected by any of the themes in this video please know you can always reach out to Mikeysline.

As one of the founding partners of the Royal Foundation's National Su***de Prevention Network, we are proud to support this recent BBC Radio 1 Life Hacks special, shining a light on mental health and su***de prevention.
By working together and keeping the conversation going, we can all play a role in reducing the stigma surrounding mental health and su***de, and show that hope and support is always within reach.
Our Hive of Activity is full this week of busy bees🐝 doing amazing things 🫶 to support the vital work we do in local communities:

Today, we were honoured to be invited to a local Army welfare event—thank you 🫶🏻
It truly reminded us that the best conversations happen when we connect with our community in person.
So many fantastic service providers and real life heroes in one room.
Thank you also Ffion for participating in the High Life Highland Leadership Programme. Keep going for that yellow hoodie 💪🏼
Kindness, Community, Empathy and Compassion are key elements to our Bee The Change Campaign 🐝✨

Thanks to the continued warmth, support and fundraising efforts of local businesses and communities across Moray, Mikesyline is now able to offer an additional weekly support date at our Elgin Hive.
From next week (23/02) we will be operating from our base in the town centre every Monday and Thursday.
As a grassroots charity that receives absolutely no statutory funding, these extra support sessions have only been made possible by your continued support and belief in Mikeysline - we can't do it without you.
Our Bee The Change Campaign weaves through our communities in many different creative and connected ways 🫶🏻
It’s about that person centred approach, about real conversations, challenging stigma, changing the dialogue around mental health and making sure that everyone knows, right through the generations, we are here for you.
From little Tommy leading the raffles for Body Mackaniks incredible fundraising efforts.
To running through the woods, nurturing his wee mind with nature and wearing his Mikeysline hat whilst learning what our message is all about.
From every penny you put in our collection tins, or a moment that you pause on one of our reflection benches.
You can ALL play a part of bee-ing the change and are advocates of a very important and powerful message.
Thank you 💛

TEXTLINE:
The Mikeysline text service was launched in December 2015. We have been supporting the people of the Highlands in their times of need ever since. It was the first of its kind in the UK.
By using a text line, as opposed to a phone line, anonymity is assured. This removes the awkwardness sometimes found in talking with a total stranger. 📷1 in 4 people will hang up when they use a phone line, the nerves taking over and sometimes, they aren’t quite able to get the words out. With a text line, this removes that ‘urgency’ if you like. A moment can be taken, words can be deleted and time taken to really manage to put it into words how they are feeling.
In this current age of multimedia communications, it is a tragedy to think there are so many still feeling alone, isolated and not able to express their feelings. We’re here to help.
A common misconception about Mikeysline is that it is only for young people. That’s not the case - we cater for all ages, and have been doing so since we were founded.
Our team of volunteers are there for you each and every day. Nobody has all the answers, but what they do have, is an understanding ear and guidance where we can. They do have time to support you when you need it most. Most of all, however, they’re there for you.
The Hive
The Hive is the Highland’s first out of hours mental health crisis centre, based at 19 Academy Street, Inverness. This ambitious local initiative provides a safe place to those who are in need of it. Coupled with our text service, the joint aim is to reduce social isolation. We want to help vulnerable people to maintain their mental health on a continuous basis.
The Hive is a place to attend without fear of being judged. It is a place for anyone aged 17 and up to come when they feel lost with nowhere to turn. Our staff and volunteers will lend an ear, be there for you and try to help you get through what you are feeling.
One of the main aims for the Hive is to provide an alternative. Instead of heading home and bottling up emotions, come to the Hive. In place of being trapped inside your own head, second guessing, the Hive is a platform to try and work it out. We promise we will try to help you through it.
We know we won’t have all the answers – we don’t profess to be experts. What we do promise is that we are there for you. Sharing your thoughts with an understanding ear can provide a different perspective, as well as the weight it will lift from your shoulders.
We promise you a warm welcome, a hot brew and we WILL listen.
