Fraser & Son Funeral Directors are qualified Funeral Directors based in the city of Inverness and members of the British Institute of Embalmers. Originally founded in 1919 by William Fraser within the village of Kiltarlity, our family business is now in its fourth generation. The proprietors, William and Martin Fraser, are son and grandson of the founder. Since those early days the business has progressed to a dignified funeral home in a pleasant setting at Culduthel Road, Inverness. Fraser and Son, consider it not only our duty but our privilege to remove the burden of the funeral and to understand and share in your sorrow. The arrangements conducted with dignity, patience and diplomacy can give enormous peace of mind and from experience we know this can uplift the family and give strength through their darkest hour. Our service to you starts from the very first telephone call or visit to our office. We are here to help, guide and be by your side at this difficult time. We provide impartial guidance and useful information to the bereaved family, offering the highest standard of care and service from the moment of first contact. We firmly believe that we have an important responsibility to care for our families, not just by offering support during the funeral but especially through the difficult days that follow.

A complete monumental service is provided with a select range of stones and plaques which can be viewed in comfort of our indoor display. We will help you to decide on type, size and appropriate inscription. An estimate is always given and we never proceed without time to consider and full approval having been received. Additional inscriptions, regilding and cleaning is carried out in any cemetery - all with council approval.

Peacefully at home on Thursday 18th December 2025, Peter Hooper, The Knapp, Littlemill, Nairn, aged 89 years, formerly of Achnashellach Lodge and Lochcarron. Former Car Sales, Gloucester. Very dearly loved husband of Kenina Ferguson, adored father to Kate and dearly loved by Brian, cherished grandfather to Eva and Zoe. A sore miss to all the family and a good friend to many. Funeral service on Thursday 8th January at 12.00 Noon in Cawdor Parish Church thereafter to the churchyard, followed by a reception at Cawdor Tavern. All welcome to attend. Dress code smart but all black isn't necessary.

Sadly, following a long illness, on Thursday 25th December 2025 at Raigmore Hospital, Brenda “Pixie” Glass nee McGregor, West Heather Gardens, Inverness aged 61 years. Worshipped and adoring wife of Paul and dearly loved by all. Very special thanks to all at Ward 2C and the MacKenzie Centre. Tragically, on Thursday 4th December 2025, Iain Gordon Macfarlane, Strathspey Place, Inverness and formerly of Ullapool, aged 32 years. Most loving son of Christine and Marshall and dearly loved brother of Kirsty-Anne Stein. Iain was a kind-hearted soul, gifted musician and passionate highlander. His immeasurable loss will be felt deeply by all who knew him. A service to celebrate his life will take place on Wednesday 7th January at 12.00 noon in Lochbroom and Coigach Free Church, Quay Street, Ullapool, thereafter interment in Morefield Cemetery. All welcome to attend. At peace with the Lord.

Peacefully on Wednesday 17th December 2025, Andrew Sinclair Scobie of 6 Station Road, Edderton, Tain, sadly passed away aged 69 years. Loving father to Donald and Jana. Dear friend to many, who will be greatly missed by all. Funeral service will be held in Inverness Crematorium on Tuesday 6th January 2026 at 11.00am, thereafter to Edderton Hall for a celebration of Andy’s life at 1.30pm. All respectfully invited. Anyone not able to attend the crematorium are more than welcome to attend Edderton Hall. Family flowers only please, smart casual wear to be worn, if possible. Donations, if desired, can be given towards Munlochy Pet Sanctuary at the service.

Dearly loved husband of Margaret for 61 years, loving father to David and Anne, father-in-law to Olivia and Donald, devoted grandfather to Andrew and Rebecca, dear brother and uncle, a great friend to many. Grateful thanks to the staff of Belford Hospital, Fort William for the care shown to Lorna. Special thanks to Rev Anthony Jones for his comforting service, Nick Waring for his wonderful eulogy and to Kathryn Sharples for her musical accompaniment. Thanks to William T Fraser & Son for their support with all the arrangements and to the Lovat Hotel for the catering. Former NHS secretary and Morrisons employee. Funeral service on Monday 12th January 2026 at 11.00am in Ness Bank Church, Inverness with onward travel to Rosskeen Cemetery, Invergordon. All welcome. Beloved partner of Gordie Brown, loving mum of Pamela, Julie, Derek and James, adored granny to 14, much loved sister to Sandy and the late Donald, a dear aunty to Graham, Alison, John, Debbie and Colin, cousin, best friend of Linda and sadly missed by all who knew her.
