We know many families are feeling worried after recent coverage about SNAP and the Haven Centre, and we want to acknowledge those concerns.

We’ve now shared an update on our website to explain where things stand, what is still being discussed, and what has yet to be decided.

And as always, we are doing this with care for the children, young people and the families who sit at the heart of this.

At this stage we would like to acknowledge that SNAP has not been told to leave the Haven Centre, and discussions are ongoing.

You can read the full update and Q+A here:

We’ll continue to share clear updates directly through our own channels as conversations continue.

ENF update

Since opening in 2023, The Haven Centre, delivered by the Elsie Normington Foundation, has become a safe, welcoming space for many families in our community.

However, by listening to the voices of families, with Disabilities and the professionals and support services of complex needs who have reached out about access to the Playcentre, it’s clear that there’s an exciting opportunity to support more children and families through a more open model.

For this reason, from 27 March 2026, the Playcentre will begin transitioning to a shared, managed model, with sessions coordinated in-house by ENF. This will include bookings for day services, parties and play sessions.

As we plan for this next step, please know that we remain grateful for all the work the SNAP team has done within the Playcentre, and look forward to continuing to work with them as this next chapter begins.

If you have any questions in the meantime, please email info@enfoundation.co.uk
