Sometimes the most valuable support comes from simply bringing people together. 🩷

The Haven Play Centre can be hired for parent-led meet-ups, support groups or individual sessions where a child with complex health or disability needs may benefit from having a safe, supportive space to play.

It’s a relaxed, secure environment where children can explore at their own pace while families connect, share experiences and spend time together.

If you’re thinking about organising something for your group, or need space for an individual session, we’d be very happy to chat it through.

One of the hopes behind the Haven Play Centre has always been to create a space where organisations, families and services can come together.

✨A place where children can play.
✨Where families can connect.
✨And where support is easier to access.

That’s why we believe the next step for the Play Centre is about building on what already exists, welcoming more groups and activities while continuing the story that has already begun here.

Because the stronger the network of support for families, the better it is for everyone.🌼

✨ Celebrating the Women of Inverness ✨

We are incredibly proud to announce that Elsie has been selected as one of the inspiring women featured in the latest exhibition at the UHI Inverness! Elsie has done so much for our community, impacting the lives of countless people through her dedication, kindness, and unwavering support for those around her.

This exhibition, captured by renowned photographer Jenny Matthews, showcases the strength and resilience of women who are shaping the future of Inverness. Elsie’s portrait stands as a testament to her hard work and commitment to making a difference.

Elsie shared how honoured she feels to be a part of this project:

"I’m really humbled to have been asked to be part of this exhibition. It’s a beautiful reminder of how important community is, and I hope my story inspires others to get involved and make a positive change too."

A New Chapter for the Haven Playcentre 🩷

Since opening in 2023, The Haven Centre has become a trusted place for families across the Highlands, built to provide specialist facilities close to home for children and young people with additional support needs.

From April 2026, we’ll be opening access more widely under a shared, community-focused approach. This means more care providers, more charities and more parent-led groups will be able to enquire about using the Playcentre for day services, play sessions, parties and community activities.

However, in recognition of our long-standing relationship with SNAP, we will continue to offer priority bookings at a reduced rate, and remain open to working alongside them as we move forward.

This is not about reducing access, it’s about widening it. Creating space for more services to work side by side, and opening doors for more Highland families.

For more information check out our website, or please email:

The Haven was built for our community, and we’re excited for what comes next.
