'All at C' were our entertainers for the afternoon yesterday. The residents really enjoy their music, stories and banter. We have already got them booked again for early in the new year as their diary fills up quickly ! Dancing and singing are a valued part of most folks pasts and stirs some lovely memories which is beneficial to their wellbeing. The staff are always keen to participate and join in when they get a free minute for this reason 😃🎼🎤🎸

We told the residents that we were observing the 2 minutes silence this morning at 11am in the dining room. There was a big turn out and we observed it alongside live tv coverage.
We then listened to some of the memories of the war some residents wished to share and we asked Angelica to read out 'In Flanders Fields' by John McCrae

Yesterday afternoons beetle drive was very busy and they were all keen to get going. We had several tables of residents each shaking the dice in turn and drawing their beetles. We all started at the same time and the person who completed their whole beetle had to shout BEETLE and we then all had to stop and go on to the next game. We did stop midway for a cuppa and a rest !! 🥲 Then we continued for a further couple of games 😃

The residents were showing off their artistic skills yesterday afternoon. They were all very silent when they were doing these canvases and i think you'll agree they are very good indeed. They were happy for me to hang them up in the dining room for everyone to admire 🙂

We had our monthly church service yeaterday afternoon which was conducted by The Rev'd Rhona Cathcart from West Church. She and 2 of her colleagues joined us for a cuppa and homemade shortbread (Thank you Lesley)
When they had left we got the dartboard out and had a few games which was hilarious. The walls were safe enough as they were magnetic darts !! 😂😆

One of our care & support workers, Tracey Goodall has very kindly set out a display of just a few of her projects for us to enjoy. She is very talented and pays so much attention to fine detail. She has made orders on request for people, and also for local businesses & she very kindly donates some for raffle prizes. Please feel free to come and admire them. A wee compilation of pictures of activities recently. Making scarey Halloween ghost garlands and eating Linda's peanut butter & jelly sandwiches, making & eating Arlyns Filipino sweet. We had a chippy lunch from Kintore chippy van and we even had time to help Bill MacDonald celebrate his birthday 🎂 Its all go here !!

Its a very sad day for us all here at Pleyfauld House. Residents and staff gathered together this morning to say goodbye to our senior admin Laura who made the sad decision to leave. It was a very hard decision for her as she loves everyone here. We all wish her well in her new place of work. They will be getting a gem !!
We will miss you very much Laura and please come and see us x

GIANT BADMINTON THURS 23RD OCT 🏸
The residents took part in this activity with great enthusiasm but unfortunately for the staff on duty we spent most of our time retrieving the shuttlecocks from the floor ! At least they tried and got a laugh. We had a cuppa and finished the afternoon with a game of 'Tell me'
