“After recovering from Covid one gentleman needed help with memory issues and negotiating steps,” says Ian Thompson, owner of Walfinch home care in Welwyn and Bishops Stortford. “Gradually, over six months of dedicated interaction and help with physiotherapy his short-term memory improved, as did his mobility. Afternoon Tea Week 2022

Thanks Anna Maria Russell, seventh Duchess of Bedford, for inventing afternoon tea in 1840. Our Walfinch carers will be happy to pop round with yours! Anna, one of Queen Victoria’s ladies-in-waiting, requested tea, cake and bread and butter to dispel a ‘sinking feeling’ at about 5pm.

Rooney the cat sleeps in her owner’s garden shed. Walfinch carer Carol, who provides care to Rooney’s owner, found Rooney’s cushion was damp, and the cat needed flea treatment. “I gave Rooney a dry cushion and defleaed her. Now Rooney comes into the kitchen to eat and sleeps more comfortably. Happy cat, happy client, happy carer,” says Carol.
