As a mum (and yes, dads too) we often sit at the very centre of the family system. The steady point. The emotional anchor. The one everyone unconsciously leans into.
And as I began to gently unravel these tree lights, Ifound myself reflecting on just how much is carried in that role.
Because emotionally, motherhood can be quietly draining in ways we don’t always name.
We hold space for little nervous systems still learning the world. We absorb moods, worries, needs, fears, logistics, emotions- often without realising how deeply it lands in our own bodies.
I am deeply grateful to be at the centre of my family. Truly. And yet, being at the centre also means we can become the point where everyone’s unprocessed energy gathers. The place emotions are released. The place stress lands. The place overwhelm settles.
Over time, that weight doesn’t just live in the mind- it lodges in the body. In the nervous system. In the breath. In the quiet exhaustion we push through because “there’s still more to do.”
This is your reminder that you are not meant to hold it all alone. That regulation is not selfish- it is essential.
That tending to your energy recalibrates the entire family field.
