Today, on World Food Day, we reflect on the incredible journey our food takes from soil to plate, and the dedicated individuals who make it all possible. with the Food specialism, and working towards this, lay important roles in this process.

They are experts shaping our food systems from the inside out - working with growers, in food manufacturing, product development, quality assurance and research. They are the driving force behind the safe, sustainable, and nutritious products on our shelves.

As this year's theme reminds us, "Water is life, water is food. Leave no one behind," the responsibility of ensuring a sustainable food supply is immense. Our registrants working in this sector apply cutting-edge nutritional science to:
Formulate healthier alternatives and reduce waste
Ensure food safety and compliance
Innovate for a more resilient and equitable food system

To all our registrants in the Food sector: your scientific expertise is essential to achieving global food security and improving public health. Thank you for making nutrition central to the future of food!

Ready to Bring Nutrition into Your Medical Curriculum?

To support the integration of the AfN Undergraduate Curriculum in Nutrition for Medical Doctors, a new collection of bite-size videos has just been released. These short, expert-led videos offer accessible, engaging content to help medical schools bring nutrition to life in their teaching.

This is just the beginning—these resources are part of a growing suite designed to support the implementation of the nutrition curriculum for medical doctors into their training. Helping medical schools embed nutrition into their core teaching —not as an optional extra, but as an essential component of modern medical education to equip our future doctors with the knowledge and skills needed to understand the link between diet and disease in order to support their patients with real-world healthcare challenges.

We invite all medical schools and lecturers to explore these new resources and see how they can incorporate nutrition into their medical education programme. Explore these resources here: https://shorturl.at/IwRwO
