I am a functional movement and injury rehabilitation specialist, actively involved in sport in the community at both grassroots and higher level. My work

covers form and multi-directional movement biomechanics, injury assessment and rehab, remedial and sports massage, postural assessment, one-to-one coaching, and pitch-side support. What a warrior.

This year, sadly, has had a real theme of watching people suffer beyond words.

We shouldn’t complain about our day to day as there’s always people who genuinely deserve to who really don’t. They just dig in and get on.

Do more if you can 👣 xx

I'm 29 and running the London Marathon with a fridge on my back.

Because we are all carrying something. And we don’t have to carry it alone.

I was 15 when my mum was diagnosed with Frontotemporal Dementia.

No understanding. No roadmap. Just watching the person I loved slowly disappear.

For 6 years, my world became caring, grieving, and trying to make sense of something that never made sense.

Losing her piece by piece… and then losing her completely at 52.

In that same room where we were first told she had FTD, my life changed again.

I learned I had a 50% chance of inheriting it too.

That fear stayed with me.

It broke me at times.

But on the 12th September 2018, it became real.

I tested positive for the MAPT gene.

I will develop the same dementia in my 40s.

How do you process that?

Honestly… I didn’t, not at first.

I spiralled. Depression. Intrusive thoughts. Feeling like my future had already been written.

But what saved me was people.

Friends. Family. Support.

People who helped me carry the weight when it felt unbearable.

And that’s what this is about.

This marathon with a fridge on my back isn’t just a challenge.

It’s a symbol.

Because that’s what it feels like sometimes - like you’re carrying something heavy that no one else can see.

I’m doing this to make dementia visible.

But more than that… to show you that whatever you’re carrying, you don’t have to carry it alone.

On Sunday Karen will be running in the London Marathon. There’s a lot less of her to carry around the 26.2 mile route, 17.1kg to be exact.

Karen’s worked so hard to get to this start line and I am in awe of her. An unbelievable shift and all power to the mantra, “train hard, run easy”

Well done Karen, you’re amazing 👣 xx

So pleased for, and proud of Lynette. 10.5kg down and smashing it whilst navigating life and all that it throws at her.

Clothes are different, movement is different, food is different, possibilities are different, outlook is different. Different now feels normal.

Lynette has goals and she’s working so hard to get there.

How’s your journey? Contact me to find out how I might be able to help you.

So pleased for Karen.

16.20kg down since we started and absolutely smashing it. No weighing out food, no calorie counting, no logging of foods eaten. Just grown up thinking, routine and boundaries.

2026 is a huge year for Karen and I’m right behind her roaring her on every step of the way 👣

Keep at it Karen 👊

2025: The Year 391,000 People Ran Parkrun on a Single Day—And Other Wild Running Moments

This year broke records and hearts across the running world. On April 19, parkrun set a global attendance record with 391,000 participants worldwide (218,000 in the UK alone). London Marathon became the world's largest with 56,640 finishers—until NYC reclaimed the crown with 59,226 finishers in November.

Harry Styles ran two World Marathon Majors, finishing Berlin in 2:16. Former video game champion Sam King—once overweight and depressed—ran 80 ultramarathons in 80 consecutive days. Sara Cox raised £11 million for Children in Need by running 135 miles in five days despite not owning running shoes before training started. And the Barkley Marathons? Zero finishers, as usual.

Faith Kipyegon nearly broke 4 minutes for the mile (ran 4:06.91—fastest women's mile in history). Alex Yee—a triathlete—ran 2:06:38 at the Valencia Marathon in only his second marathon attempt. Sarah Perry crushed the women's Big's Backyard Ultra record with 395.8 miles over four days.

For recreational runners: the numbers prove running's inclusive power. Whether you're chasing world records or just showing up at parkrun, you're part of something extraordinary. Start where you are—Sara Cox didn't own running shoes before her challenge. Consistency matters more than speed.

The JRSTT Narrative

Soft Tissue Therapy * Biomechanics * Imbalance Correction * Strength & Conditioning * Injury Rehab * Coach * Nutrition * Pitch-side Support * Kinesio Taping * Core Club My studies have covered all aspects of soft tissue techniques, anatomy and physiology, biomechanics, postural assessment, remedial massage, coaching and the management of clients in a client empowering environment. I treat clients who have musculoskeletal injury, pain or dysfunction caused by any of life’s stresses and from all walks of life. Although sport is a common factor with many my clients symptoms, it is far from being the only issue I deal with. Soft Tissue Therapy integrates three essential clinical elements: Assessment Applying a range of assessment methods to determine whether Soft Tissue Therapy is appropriate and devise a suitable treatment plan for the individual client. Treatment Applying a range of soft tissue techniques (including massage) to aid recovery from injury and improve soft tissue condition and joint mobility. Rehabilitation Offering advice on a range of remedial exercises and lifestyle factors aimed at speeding up recovery, preventing injury recurrence as well as improving posture, performance and function.

Core Club is all about movement. A developmental platform aimed at all abilities to enable people to build stronger more efficient bodies for life as well as creating advantages in sport. It is very different. I also have advanced Level 4 recognised taping capabilities and qualifications.

Always happy to talk things through if you'd like to get in touch.
