At Homecare Ipswich, we’re lucky to meet so many incredible people - and sometimes, the families we support remind us just how much hidden talent there is among older adults. 🎨

The husband of one of our clients is a talented artist, and he’s been creating portraits of our care team during his wife’s visits. Each sketch captures something so special - the warmth, patience and connection that make care so much more than a job.

We’re very grateful to him (and to our wonderful staff) for allowing us to share these portraits. They’re a beautiful reminder that creativity, appreciation and community don’t fade with age - they grow stronger.

This week, we are incredibly proud to introduce Kerry, our Registered Manager, the backbone of the team here at Homecare Ipswich.

"I joined Homecare Ipswich in February 2024 as Branch Manager and have since gained my CQC registration to become the Registered Manager. Care has been a big part of my life for as long as I can remember. My mum was the manager of a residential home supporting children with complex needs, so I grew up seeing the positive impact that good care can have on people’s lives.
I started my own career in care at the age of 18, supporting a gentleman on a one-to-one basis. From there, I moved into supported living for adults with learning disabilities, which I really enjoyed. When my family began to grow, I wanted a role that would fit better around home life, so I moved into domiciliary care as a Care Assistant. That move completely changed my outlook on care — I saw firsthand the difference I could make by helping people remain independent in their own homes, with the support they needed to live comfortably and safely.
I love that no two days are ever the same, and that every individual I meet teaches me something new. Being part of a team that makes such a meaningful difference in people’s lives is something I’m truly proud of."

At Homecare Ipswich, we’re proud to deliver person-centred, nurse-led support for people living with complex health needs across Suffolk.

Our clients trust us with some of the most important moments in their lives - and we’re now looking for a few more exceptional people to join our team.

If you have experience in complex care - perhaps supporting clients with tracheostomies, ventilators, PEG feeding, neurological conditions or spinal injuries - we’d love to hear from you.

You’ll be part of a small, supportive team with hands-on guidance from registered nurses, providing truly personalised care in people’s homes.

💷 Pay: £14–£16 per hour
🕒 Hours: Part-time or permanent

"What drove me into nursing is a sad story, but it gave me strength and passion for what I do. When I was about 11, my mum suddenly collapsed while we were crossing the road. I felt fear and helplessness waiting for help to arrive, and from that moment I gained a mission — to care for people and bring hope where I can.

I graduated nursing school in 2003, worked in hospitals and GP practices, and even managed a scrap yard and a construction company before returning fully to nursing. I came to the UK in 2015 and have worked across nursing homes, NHS wards, and community care ever since.

When I supported a young patient with MND to return home after months in hospital, the joy of seeing his reunion with his family reminded me of why I started. That moment inspired me to open my own domiciliary care service — and although the road hasn’t been easy, I’m proud I never gave up.

I’m passionate about nursing and proud to put my skills and knowledge in service of the community."
