Here’s what prioritising wellbeing & self-care looks like for me while travelling:

1️⃣ Prioritising– Family first always. Reconnecting with my husband and son. Making memories. Being fully there. Nothing more important.

2️⃣ Consistency – Evening walks after dinner. Keeping my daily rhythm, even away from home.

3️⃣ Relaxed Dinners – Long meals. Beautiful ambience. No rushing. Savouring every bite and every conversation.

4️⃣ Movement – Gym sessions, runs, stretching, legs up the wall after long-haul flights. Moving my body = clearing my mind.

5️⃣ Connection – Fun family activities, shared laughs, quality time that fills everyone’s cup.

6️⃣ Hydration – Plenty of water in the heat.

7️⃣ Balance – Yes to the wine. Yes to the cocktails. We’re all about the balance 😉

8️⃣ Nutrition – Breakfast is my favourite ritual. Colourful, nourishing, varied. Sets you up for the day.

9️⃣ The Ocean – Salt water therapy. Swimming in the sea over the pool every time. Resetting my nervous system.

🔟 Reflection – Gratitude for this life. For travel. For exploring new cultures. For time together.

1️⃣1️⃣ Presence – Slowing down. Noticing the small things. Regulating my nervous system. Reducing stress. Just being.

Happy New Year ✨

If you’re new here, I’m Rachel, founder of A Good Balance 🤍

I created this community after returning to work following a career break when we started our family. Motherhood gave me the confidence to break the norm and redefine what balance really looks like.

Today, A Good Balance has grown into a large business community, working closely with local companies while hosting networking events, workshops, inspiring speakers, and wellness walks.

But we’re not just for business owners. Theres something for everyone. The stay-at-home mums, learners, caregivers, and those navigating change. Whether you’re building a career, taking a pause, or figuring out what’s next, there’s a group for you.

From hormones and menopause to post-birth recovery, PCOS, and overall wellbeing, our goal is always the same: connection, support, and balance.

⚖️ Get in touch and a member of the team will guide you to the right group for a happy, healthy 2026.

Happy 1st of December ✨

A little reminder as we step into the most magical month: enjoy the festivities, but don’t forget you in the middle of it all.

Yes to the business lunches, the gatherings, the family time, the friends who feel like home, but also yes to slowing down. Rest matters just as much as celebration.

Find joy in the chaos and in the quiet moments in between.

Start your December with intention. Take 10 minutes each day to sit by the fire or under the twinkly lights with a warm drink… and simply be. ✨🕯️

What an absolute privilege to bring A Good Balance to Suffolk New College alongside Councillor Stefan Long and Head of Careers & Employer Engagement, Kayleigh Norris.

Kayleigh delivered one of the most inspiring presentations on how prioritising our wellbeing is not only essential for life but also drives productivity in every aspect of it. This shines through in the care and dedication she and her team provide for their students. Her passion for life long learning was evident & many attendees left with new insights into apprenticeships they hadn’t previously been aware of. I strongly urge you to reach out to this wonderful team for guidance and information.

Community is a core pillar of positive wellbeing, and Suffolk New College’s vision for both our town and county is something we are deeply passionate about.

The team created an incredible experience, with CHEF’S WHITE’S LTD proving to be the perfect venue for corporate events.

We were also honoured to hear from the Mayor of Ipswich, who had the room both laughing and reflecting. He shared honestly about balancing two high-powered leadership roles and reminded us how vital it is to rest and make time for the things we enjoy.

The day was rounded off with our obligatory wellness walk along the Ipswich Waterfront. The sun shone, conversations flowed, and it was a wonderful opportunity to ‘disconnect in order to reconnect’.

Another successful and beautiful event, bringing people together. If you’d like to join us for the next A Good Balance for business then you can book your tickets using the link in our bio ⚖️
