It’s been a while so I thought I’d reintroduce myself, and say hello and welcome to my new followers, and to those of you who have been around a while, thank you so much for your ongoing support.

I have been an Aesthetic Doctor for over 11 years, and was previously a GP for 12 years. I love making you look and feel like the best version of yourself. The natural look is definitely my preferred way of doing this. My favourite treatment is full face dermal filler, with little tweaks that make an impactful change.

Outside of aesthetics I have 2 Burmese cats. My newest hobby/obsession is golf, and I play at Seckford golf club. I also love going to Pilates and Airborne Fit classes. My favourite holiday destination is Italy, but I’m happy to be persuaded to try new places!

Radiesse isn’t a new filler, but it’s new to Tallent Medical. It’s well tested, I’ve just been nervous of the non-reversibility. However, having seen the fantastic results after comprehensive training, it’s worth it for the collagen production and longevity. Be prepared for a few days swelling, more than HA fillers.

£480 for 1.5mls, or can be hyperdiluted to 3-6mls into a collagen stimulating wash for the neck, hands and face.

I'm usually torn as both are excellent products... it's bruising that sways me!
But overall these are great treatments to use in between filler and anti-wrinkle injections to help hydrate the skin, smooth fine lines and crepey skin, and give a lovely glow.
£250 per syringe, usually 2 recommended a month apart, then repeated 6 monthly.

Chemical Peels are an excellent option for freshening up dull skin, but also for specifically treating pigmentation, acne and fine lines. At Tallent Medical we offer a range of peels for different indications, depths of peeling and budgets. Downtime varies from none, to mild flaking, to full face peeling for 5 days. We have peels suitable for most skin types, and all skin of colour. You will need to wear sunscreen afterwards to avoid increasing pigmentation, but this time of year is good for avoiding that risk. Prices from £70 to £250.

You might have seen an article this week about dermal fillers lasting 20+ years! Until recently we thought they only lasted up to a couple of years. But now MRI scans have shown it can be a lot longer.

So what influences how long it lasts for? There are several factors:
• the type of filler used
• the thickness of filler used
• where the filler was placed
• patient dependent
• practitioner dependent

Swipe through to see more details, and remember to choose your practitioner wisely, anatomy and a reputable filler brand are important, especially if your filler lasts so long. On the plus side, it can mean you don’t need to have top ups as frequently!

Are you scared lip filler is going to hurt? I was, when I had it done the first time, I didn’t even have any numbing cream… I’m sure my adrenaline kicked in, and the next thing I knew, I was totally numb from the lidocaine in the filler. So if I can do it, so can you!

But, we will do all we can to make the process comfortable for you, I’m certainly not advocating no numbing. We can slap that cream on, give you a squeezy ball, let you sing your way through it… whatever it takes to make it more comfortable for you!

And I promise it will be worth it, the confidence a little lip volume and definition gives, is life changing.
