Sharing this with a very proud heart today.
When I first began my studies with Active Health Group years ago, I had a list of different schools across the world to choose from. I knew what I was looking for, and I had narrowed it down to two or three.
Lucky for me, I reached out to Active Health to set up a call, and that was when I very first spoke to Richard Johnson, the founder of the Academy. We ended up talking for hours that day, as we had so much in common, between struggling with autoimmune health and just life in general. I was sold instantly, and I signed up that very day.
That was 5 years ago this month. Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought back then that I would be saying now that I am so incredibly proud to be part of their team.
Although I did sit and say out loud to myself for about 10 months after graduating, “Give me a job, Richard, give me a job”, 😂and just over a year ago now, he did exactly that.
I am genuinely honoured to be part of the Active Health Group team, and if you have never heard of them before, let me tell you a little about why they are so special.
The breadth of knowledge and experience across our tutors is extraordinary. We are talking clinical anatomy, trauma-informed practice, breathwork, sports therapy, gut health, nutritional therapy, health coaching, lymphatic therapy, nervous system regulation, and so much more.
This is not your average further education. Every tutor brings real clinical depth, lived experience and genuine passion into everything they teach. Students don't just learn theory, they learn how to think, how to observe, and how to truly help the people in front of them.
Everyone really does care about what they do. It is more than just teaching, we are like a family, and that has been something I have felt the power of just lately, when I needed some personal support.
If you are considering a career in health and wellbeing, or you are already qualified and want to go deeper, there are lots of new things happening right now and so many plans for the future. Go follow Active Health Group to keep up-to-date with everything that is happening.
And even if you are not a potential learner, just come follow anyway, as there is always more being shared for the public too, on all things health and well-being.
Oh and there is a brand new course starting soon in Men's Health Coaching, which is soooo needed right now in the world.
So many exciting things are coming this year, and I am so freaking proud and excited to be a part of it.

“Your whole life is a qualification — even the difficult parts.”
Meet the Team – Linda McClure
At Active Health Group, we are proud to work with tutors whose journeys into health and wellbeing are shaped by real-life experience. Today, we are introducing Linda McClure, whose path into therapeutic nutrition has been built through both professional experience and personal transformation.
Linda’s career began in the world of hairdressing, where she spent 38 years working in salon management and ownership, travelling and working across Tenerife, Dubai and Guernsey before eventually returning home to Scotland. During those years, she developed a deep understanding of people — learning how to truly listen and recognise what was often left unsaid.
Her journey into holistic health began almost 20 years ago and led to a BA in Complementary Healthcare. However, her path into Nutritional Therapy was shaped during a personal health crisis in 2019, when she faced a serious autoimmune condition. Choosing to explore nutritional approaches, she discovered the powerful impact of food as a therapeutic tool — a turning point that changed the direction of her work.
Linda began studying Autoimmune Paleo (AIP) protocols and later discovered the profound benefits of ketogenic nutrition during her time as a student with Active Health Group. This became her specialist area, and today she focuses on Therapeutic Carbohydrate Restriction and Ketogenic Nutrition for metabolic health, gut health and autoimmune conditions.
She continues to expand her knowledge through advanced training in Ketogenic Science, Carnivore nutrition and Diabetes Reversal.
As a Tutor and Assessor at Active Health Group, Linda brings both scientific understanding and lived experience into her teaching. She is passionate about helping students understand patterns in health and supporting them to see the body as an interconnected system rather than isolated symptoms.
Alongside her clinical work, Linda also supports coaches, nutritionists and practitioners in developing their businesses, combining her earlier creative background in Art & Design with her knowledge of the digital world and holistic health practice.
Advice for someone starting out
"Your whole life is a qualification. All the pivots, challenges and experiences that may feel messy are often the very things that shape your authority. Don’t wait until you feel perfect to begin — your clients need a real person, not a perfect one. Your story is often the very thing that connects you to the people you are meant to serve."
Over the coming weeks, we will be introducing more of the wonderful people who make up the Active Health Group team, including both our tutors and the administrative team who support our students behind the scenes.
