Stimulation of the approximately 7,500 nerve endings in the feet helps to open up the natural pathways your body uses to nourish and heal itself. Tender or ‘gritty’ points indicate congestion in the corresponding area of the body. During the session a state of deep relaxation is created in the body, interrupting the pattern of stress and bringing balance to the body and its systems where there is imbalance. Reflexology is a well established holistic therapy which treats the mind and body as a whole to achieve a state of general well-being. An increasing number of people are using this safe, natural therapy as a way of relaxing and harmonising the body. I have completed two diplomas each in Clinical Reflexology and 'Anatomy and Physiology' . I have also completed a course in Reflexology lymphatic drainage(RLD)

Like foot reflexology, auricular reflexology relies on the idea that specific points on the body are connected to other body parts and can be stimulated to affect the whole system.
When required, your therapist may apply an ear seed to a specific point! These stimulate the point by exerting a small amout of pressure and can be used for the client to press gently as required! Reflexology is a complementary therapy that is based on the theory that different points and areas on the feet, hands, face and ears correspond with different areas of the body. Reflexologists believe that working these points or areas aids relaxation and helps improve well-being. Reflexology may also help improve mood, release tension and aid sleep; helping us to cope better and easing the stresses during this transitional time.

Three common symptoms that women can experience in peri-menopause and menopause are hot flushes, poor sleep and anxiety. A study has been completed in Iran, looking at the effect of Reflexology on menopausal women and showed a reduction in hot flushes and an improvement in sleep. Reflexology has also been shown to significantly reduce anxiety state associated with ‘an increased feeling of ease and a reduction in anxiety.

Reflexology acknowledges that every person is a unique individual, the only way to know if reflexology will help you is to try it!
