Zoe Curtis Counselling Reg.MBACP

Zoe Curtis Counselling Reg.MBACP I run my counselling practice in Ivybridge at the Devon Family Hub. I work with individuals aged 12+.

I am a fully qualified, insured counsellor registered with the BACP. I also have 10 years employment experience in mental health related fields, working within young people’s, adults, and elderly care settings, including individuals with learning difficulties. I work to help people process the past, manage the present, become more self aware, and find healthy ways to express emotions or cope with stresses. Whether you want to make changes within your life, or make sense of your thoughts, relationships, or identity, I offer a safe, non judgemental and confidential space to explore this. I am an integrative counsellor which means I can draw on different approaches depending on the issue you bring and the way of working that suits you best. My training is based in person centred practice, along with CBT, psychodynamic, transactional analysis (TA), and mindfulness. I can also work creatively if this is something that would suit you. Seeking counselling can be daunting and I will do my best to make you feel at ease. It is important that your counsellor is the right ‘fit’ for you and that you feel comfortable. I offer an initial consultation at a reduced rate so that you can get a feel for me and decide if we would work well together. Feel free to pop me a message and I'll be happy to answer any questions. You don’t have to be an expert to help someone open up, and you don’t need the perfect words, the ones you already have are enough. 💚

Do you sometimes feel stuck in patterns that leave you exhausted? Whether that's people pleasing, perfectionism, or carrying too much for others, leaving little space for you.
Have you noticed how past experiences or family roles still shape the way you relate to others, and the expectations you place on yourself? Do you want healthier relationships, more balance, and the freedom to be fully yourself? Therapy can be a space to untangle these old stories, and help you begin to discover a freer, more authentic way of living.

Even though society and the health care system often perpetuate this - please know that you are worthy and deserving of help before you reach rock bottom.

Sometimes life feels big and messy.

Like there’s too much to fix, too much to handle, too much to carry.

But you don’t have to carry everything.
You only need to focus on what’s in your hands.

Your words.
Your choices.
Your effort.
Your kindness.

That’s where your power is, not in controlling everyone else, but in leading yourself well.

If you’d like a printable version of this reminder to keep in sight (or share with kids), I’d love to send it your way.

💛 Comment FOCUS and I’ll get it to you!
