Childbirth aside, the pelvis performs a largely similar function in men and women: it looks after the bladder, the bowel movements and of course the reproductive organs. But if issues arise in the pelvic region, women are far more likely to talk about it than men, perhaps owing to the fact that they are regularly screened in the area from their early teens. Unfortunately, guys are often reluctant to open up, even to a doctor, which can lead to a problem that could have been easy to solve getting worse. A guy’s voice might just be the most important line of defense when it comes to pelvic health. So guys – get talking!

Guess who's heading to the UK's first Scar Symposium this weekend? 🤩

Our Clinical Director Carys!

This is what she had to say:

"I'm so excited to be there to learn all about the latest advancements in scar management! It's going to be an incredible opportunity to gain new insights and techniques that I can bring back to help our Swan clients.

I'm particularly looking forward to connecting with other professionals and sharing knowledge. This is a big deal for us in the physio world! 🤓

I'll be soaking up all the info on evidence-based practices and innovative treatments. Can't wait to share what I learn with the rest of the Swans and our clients!"

One of her colleagues is even flying in from Madrid for this! 🥰🥰🥰

Did you know that paying attention to your pelvic floor muscles can play a crucial role in men’s overall health?

While often overlooked, these muscles are essential for supporting bladder, bowel, and sexual function.

One effective, yet less obvious way to maintain a healthy pelvic floor is through correct breathing techniques.

When you breathe deeply and fully engage your diaphragm, you naturally activate your pelvic floor muscles.

This process can strengthen them over time without the need for specific exercises.

So, next time you take a moment to breathe deeply, remember—you’re not only relaxing your mind but giving your pelvic floor a gentle workout too.

Small, mindful changes can truly make a big difference to your health and well-being.

🌱 Did you know that "positive pregnancy" isn't just about having a healthy pregnancy?
It’s also about fostering a positive mindset! 🤰✨
A wonderful way to enhance your emotional wellbeing during this special time is by cultivating gratitude daily.
✅ Research suggests that keeping a gratitude journal—where you jot down three things you’re thankful for each day—can significantly reduce stress and increase happiness.
This simple practice helps shift your focus from worries to the joys of expecting.
✨ Cherish the small milestones, like feeling your baby’s first kick or enjoying a quiet moment with a lovely cup of tea.
Remember, every pregnancy is unique, and nurturing a positive outlook can be a helpful companion along the way.
Embrace the small joys, and take each day as it comes.
You're doing wonderfully! 🌼
