Before & After: Onlay Treatment Restoring Strength and Aesthetics 🦷✨

Two worn / compromised premolars were restored with custom-made porcelain onlays to rebuild structure and function. Once we had dismantled the first premolar decay was visible in the canine tooth, so we removed the decay and restored the canine in the same appointment with a white composite filling.

The result? A stronger bite with the help of durable restorations designed to protect the teeth long-term. 💪🦷

Take a look at the during picture.....😅 It's amazing what our skilled Biomimetic Dentists can rebuild!

🦷 National Dental Nurses Day 🦷

Today, we proudly celebrate the essential role dental nurses play in delivering safe, compassionate, and high-quality dental care.

Dental nursing is not only a highly respected profession — it's also a rewarding and dynamic career path. From supporting complex clinical procedures to providing reassurance and care to patients, dental nurses are at the heart of every successful dental team.

With opportunities to specialise, develop new skills, and make a real difference in people’s health and confidence, dental nursing offers both professional fulfillment and career progression.

To all dental nurses and trainee dental nurses — thank you for your commitment, care, and professionalism. You truly make a difference every day. 💙

✨Composite Bonding by Dr Ciara Sutherland ✨

A small change can make a big difference! In this case, Dr Ciara used white filling material (composite) to enhance the shape and appearance of the canine tooth, creating a more even, natural-looking smile.

No drilling, no damage — just a quick, minimally invasive treatment with instant results. 🦷

🦷 Did you know? Diabetes and dental health are closely connected! 🩸

If you have diabetes, keeping your blood sugar under control is not only important for your overall health but also for your mouth. High blood sugar can increase your risk of gum disease, dry mouth, and infections in your mouth.

Here’s how diabetes can impact your dental health:

- Higher chance of gum inflammation and infection

- Slower healing after dental procedures

- Increased risk of cavities due to dry mouth

- More frequent infections like thrush

💡 Tips to protect your mouth if you have diabetes:

- Maintain good blood sugar control

- Brush twice daily and floss regularly

- Visit your dentist at least twice a year

- Stay hydrated and avoid sugary drinks

Your mouth is a window to your overall health — take care of it! 😁✨
