But normal tests don’t mean normal function.
IBS is now understood as a gut–brain disorder where the nervous system directly influences digestion.

When someone lives in chronic fight-or-flight, the body prioritises survival over digestion. Motility changes. Sensitivity increases. Inflammation can rise.
That doesn’t mean it’s “all in their head.”

But what if that’s only part of the story?
