Rokewood Court Care Home resident Barbara (age 95) volunteered to help me deliver fruit gifts to 3 local doctor's surgeries this afternoon. It was strenuous work and when we'd finished we drove back via Kenley Revival - History of Kenley Airfield. I said to Barbara, "Did you know there's a pub near here where all the WW2 pilots would drink between flight missions?". "Is there?" said Barbara. There was a slight pause. "Do you fancy a swift half?" said I. "You bet I do!" said Barbara. A occurred without too much effort - all you need to know is the resident's history, likes and wishes. "That's made my day", said Barbara. That's why I love my job, thought I.
