I was a journalist until I met Alejandro Jadorovski. I interviewed him. He brought his eldest son, a glorious free spirit with the intensity of a matador. He started speaking about the Wordsworth poem, “My Heart Leaps Up” which contains the line, “ The child is father of the man”. We asked the photographer to pose Alejandro naked, apart from a sheet acting as as swaddling — as if he were a baby — in the arms of his son — acting as the Father— who was bare chested but wearing black trousers. I was fired for that photograph. That was the day I became a poet and tarot reader.

First nautical rule: don’t stand up in the boat because the boat will rock and you’ll fall out. These are troubled waters. Stay seated, hand on tiller, focus on getting to the other side where there is safety. . . the challenge is Temperance. One foot in the unconscious, other foot in the conscious. This is the central pillar on the Tree of life. Cannot hold onto anything. A difficult transition requiring courage and skill. Eye on the prize. Don’t rock the boat. A perilous journey but you know down deep that all things are both things. Stray from your centre? Death or the Devil. Do not rock either the boat or yourself. Stop drinking, stop drugging, take utmost best care of yourself, savour each moment. Your dreams will guide you right.

Welcome, Gentle Seekers, I wish you harmony today as we step into the fresh energies of Beltane.

Today I drew the Hierophant card.
Major Arcanum
Teacher of Wisdom. Fifth card of the journey. Yang energy which is active.

"What can I teach you today?"
"Who is teaching me?"

All things being both things . . .

Just as I was typing this, telephone rang: a question from a fiery lady. While she is an extraordinarily accomplished woman, her passions can be perceived as too warrior-like. If you like opinions straight and clear, she's the ultimate amigo. If you'd prefer a soothing, indirect approach, stay clear of her.

A younger gentleman attempted to instruct her through sharp criticism. Attacked, she went on the attack, out-matching his youthful folly.

The Hierophant stands between Intelligence and Mercy. The advice to both would be to soften the delivery of the message.

The advice to the woman -- the young gentleman's elder both in experience and prowess -- breathe into an overview without the intent to conquer him.

Both are portraying the illusory belief that one must conquer others to develop power. You will find that “you must only conquer yourself.”

When you feel the need to defend yourself, you are merely reassuring your own misgivings. At peace with who you are, energy can mount without the use of words.

Decrease force to open yourself to possibilities. A light-hearted approach can work wonders.
