Today we celebrate a belated 21st birthday for one of our amazing care staff, Milly. Middy had to be the one to give her presents whilst we all sang Happy Birthday! 🥳 Middy’s wise advice was, “make sure you drink that sensibly” 🍷

This morning, Mike and Maureen went to the War Memorial at St. Edmunds to remember all who sacrificed so much during the 1st and 2nd World Wars.The list of names who made the ultimate sacrifice was read and the bugle sounded We laid the wreath we made last week. At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them. The War memorial was surrounded by the most beautifully handmade Service Personnel made so lovingly by Kessingland's local Knitter and Natter group.

Remember, remember, the 5th of November, gunpowder, treasona nd plot! 🔥🎆 Today was all about Bonfire night. This morning we made some delicious cheese and tomato Catherine wheels for snack and had a go at a bonfire quiz 😋Lots of participation from staff and a visiting family member. This evening we waited for it to get dark and spent some time in the garden with some sparklers despite there being a chill in the air we all had a lovely time 💥

Thursday evening saw our "Spooktacular" Family Bingo night 🎃Thank you to everybody who attended and to those wonderful people who donated raffle prizes. A huge shout out to Christine for sorting the wonderful refreshments, Shona for stepping in as Raffle Queen, Donna for checking winning bingo tickets and Milly for helping to set up and support our Mike who had a little win himself. All in all, everyone appeared to have a great time whilst raising £347.70 for our residents fund. Thank you, thank you, thank you !😘

Yesterday we were excited to welcome back Katy and the team from Pakefield Pastures 🙂they bought with them some beautiful Bunnies & Guinea Pigs Alf, Chilli, Pickle, Rosie, Bobby & Peter for lots of cuddles 🐰🐇
Stroking animals can have powerful benefits for everyone but especially someone living with dementia. The gentle, rhythmic act of petting an animal helps to calm anxiety and reduce agitation. Physical contact with an animal can release endorphins and lower stress, creating a sense of comfort and relaxation. It can also help stimulate memories and conversation. Even brief interactions can lift mood For many people with dementia, the simple act of stroking an animal brings peace, joy, and a renewed connection to the world around them 🥰
