Do you have a favourite mountain in the UK?

Can you tell the wind was hitting me in the face during this...πŸ’¨πŸƒ

But it was such a nice walk πŸ™Œ

When someone asks what type of exercise I enjoy... Where do I start!? πŸ˜•

I've always loved to mix my training, it often means less progression in a specific discipline or sport but I love to try new things. So expect a range of posts πŸ˜‚...

I don't believe you can perform at your best in any other aspect of your life if you're not trying/experimenting with some form of exercise. It's more than just physical! πŸ€Έβ€β™‚οΈπŸ§

I did it πŸ’₯ over 34 miles in my first ultra-marathon on a trail β›°β˜€οΈ this was just under 8 hours of running.

Here's my vlog from the day - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=piaCkjZpp1s&t=12s

I'm a little late posting this but just over a month ago, I completed my latest goal - a trail ultra marathon.

I went through different emotions but overall I thoroughly enjoyed it and I'm so glad I did it. The hardest part wasn't the day but it was trying to fit in training around my life (or vice versa).. including having to do a 6 hour run whilst on holiday! All my hard work was well worth it, now to decide whether to sign up to any other running events πŸ€”πŸ˜‚

The RACE DAY vlog is up on YouTube, let me know what you think. πŸŽ₯

Here are a few things that I learned from this event:

1. Doing something is better than doing nothing. On some of the training days, I didn't feel great but once I ticked that box, I felt better... and it was all in the bank ready for the big day.
-
2. It is important to set goals with a specific date. It is something to work towards and it forces you to plan out the smaller steps that will get you there.
-
3. During times of stress and fatigue, you can really uncover some mental strengths and weaknesses. I can't believe how much I discovered about myself.
-
4. Sometimes what may seem out of reach is very much in reach. Most of the time we don't even get close to our full potential.
-
5. There's a lot of time in the day and it's easy to waste it.
-
6. When I have fitness / mental goals and purpose that I dedicate to, other things in my life seem to align.

Proud of myself after this weekend, what an experience πŸ’₯ - thanks to all that messaged πŸ™Œ

Run πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ 5km
Cycle πŸš΄β€β™‚οΈ 86.5km
Run πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ 20km

5 hours and 51 minutes total time

It amazes me how much you can learn about yourself when taking on new challenges (both good and bad traits).. but its all about learning and improving.

Thoroughly enjoyed my first duathlon πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈπŸš΄β€β™‚οΈπŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ even if not all of it went to plan, I still managed to smash all goals including my main one which was to get to the finish line.

On to the next challenge...

All times, race day and prep will be uploaded to my YouTube channel now that I have time to get back to editing.

Did I make it?

I attempted to do an Ultra Marathon Event, a virtual race in a team of 3.

My goal was 31 miles, despite having no official marathon experience, I decided to go all in and straight for the ultra. Find out how I got on by watching the episode here: https://youtu.be/npldPiJFxU8Did

I managed to speak to The Breathing Project who's played a huge role in helping me stay grounded during what's been a difficult period these past 12 months. The Podcast/YouTube link is here - https://youtu.be/fDmPlBfIzqs

We chat about the breathing, cold exposure and he even takes me through a quick breathing technique that relieves nerves, stress and anxiety. Please check out the video and if you enjoy it, drop a like and comment to help grow the channel πŸ™.

Michaela Davis-Meehan talks me through the exciting moment she landed 1st place in Andorra and what was going through her mind during the intense line.

Michaela became the first Australian to win an FWT Snowboarding event, I asked about the mentality it takes to be an extreme athlete and how she achieved her dreams.
