This week two members of our team visited Kettering Foodbank to drop off donations made by our staff and to volunteer their time in the warehouse - supporting those in our community who need it most.
This week we’d like to shine a spotlight on some of our local businesses.
Tara and Christina from Countryview Nursing Home bought in donations from their Harvest Appeal. Whilst here they lent a hand getting donations from the door to the shelf, and by being ‘frontline’ hopefully gained a little insight into how we work and what we do.
We were also invited to visit Claremont Parkway Care Home - Barchester Healthcare and collect donations from their Autumn Table
Busy Bees Childcare had a full donation box for us to collect following their Harvest festival, Marcel from Kettering Golf Club bought (more!) cash from his bar collection pot.
KLM Taxis continue to provide free taxi service when we need them, Royal Bengal provide 2 bags of potatoes every week, we went to Pets at Home Kettering to spend part of the monetary voucher they’d raised recently, The Queens Arms Orlingbury held their regular quiz night for us and Broughton Primary School held another very successful Harvest Festival !
💖 More Than Just Donations
The partnership with our local schools, churches and businesses goes far beyond just providing food. Their efforts make a difference in powerful ways:
• Raising Awareness: By displaying our collection points, fundraising and sharing our stories, they help us reach so many people who might not otherwise know about the foodbank. This is crucial for keeping our shelves stocked!
• Insight into Our Work: By actively participating, their staff, clients or customers gain a real insight into the challenges local families face and what we do to help.
Certainly not forgetting Kettering Allotments, Norissa, Jane, David, Martin, Frances, Jill, Ian, Anna, Rod, Louisa and her Redrowers, Kettering Hospital Shop, THE REDEEMED CHRISTIAN CHURCH OF GOD, St. Edward Catholic Church and Norrie, Kettering Central Methodist Church, St Andrew's Church, Kettering and Don
THANK YOU ALL😊
Your involvement with our Foodbank is absolutely vital, and we are so grateful for all the support we receive.
Together, we can ensure no one in our community goes hungry 💚
