My friend Carla sadly lost her sister, Kerry, in 2025 to addiction.
Kerry was more than just her addiction and led a beautifully complex life with laughter, pain, fun, depression, bravery and love.

I myself lost a friend, Dylan, last year after he struggled with depression and addiction for most of his short life.
Addiction can affect any of us.
From any background.
Addiction can be loud.
It can be quiet.
But it can kill.

Kerry's sister, Carla, has created an amazing platform for others facing addiction in Kerry's honour - whether thats you yourself or someone dear to you - for help, hope and a place to be heard.

❤️❤️ so amazing!! Please do check this out if youre local for you or a loved one.

We did it! Our very first group meeting for Tourettes Action was today, and I'm so pleased with how it went.

We had prepared Harrison that we didn't know how many, if any, people would turn up, that we would always try again if there was nobody, and we would deal with the potential disappointment together.

I'll never forget Harrison's face when the first person arrived, ticcing, just like him. Just pure joy, relief, happiness.

Then the next, and the next and so on.

It takes a great deal of courage to walk in to the unknown, especially as a family or person dealing with Tourette Syndrome, and I'm so immensely proud of everyone who pushed through the anxiety to be there

Including ourselves.

I'm proud of us too

I'm so proud of Harrison, watching him confidently talk to other adults, and children like him, being himself, not hiding his tics, not worried about repercussions or judgements, ahhhh I just can't explain it.

Roll on the next one, I'm off to find my notebook and let my brain reel off a hundred ideas of activities and future meet up plans 🤓😅
