This coming week we say goodbye to our friend and colleague Dean Plummer who has been at the centre of our business since the 1980’s. The master architect of all wind-ups, narrator of countless anecdotes and purveyor of the most questionable texts, Dean has left behind a huge void which we shall never fill (and an outline of his bum cheeks on Jack Warwick’s window). Dean's funeral is at 12noon at the Edgar Newman Chapel, Kettering Crematorium on Tuesday 3rd Feb. Donations in lieu of flowers for The Air Ambulance Service and The Pulmonary Fibrosis Trust may be made via the Donate button on our website.

Today on the Feast of the Ephinany (January 6)we took down our ‘In Loving Memory Tree’ that has been on display at St Andrews Church, Kettering over the Christmas period.

On behalf of all of us at Jack Warwick Funeral Service we are humbled and grateful to all those who helped decorate our festive tree with over 200 heartfelt memories of loved ones no longer with us.

As we begin 2026 we want to wish you all a very Happy New Year from Lloyd, Dan, Peta, Scott, Mags and Mitch.

As an independent, local, and family run funeral business we understand how important it is to provide a fitting and personalised funeral that meets the wishes of the deceased and their families.

Every week at Jack Warwick’s we carryout bespoke and personalised funerals for our families. This week was no exception as we had the honour of looking after the repatriation of a beloved Mother back to her native Ireland, the repatriation of a lady from the USA for her funeral and burial in Kettering, and we organised a witnessed direct cremation service* for a much loved gentleman attended by his immediate family and pet Labrador.

*A witnessed direct cremation service offers a simple and value option for families who wish to say farewell in person, for up to 8 people in attendance at the crematorium for a short period of reflection accompanied to music. This type of funeral is only available at specific crematoriums and at certain times of day.

At Jack Warwick’s we know how difficult Christmas can be when you have lost someone close to you. No matter when a loved one dies, their loss is often felt more acutely during the festive season as they are no longer here to share your Christmas traditions.

Christmas can also be a time to remember and honour your loved one and create new Christmas traditions that bring you comfort and strength. Here are some ways you may wish to consider remembering a loved one this year:
Attend a carol concert or memorial service over the festive period and light a candle in your loved one's memory
Visit your loved ones resting place or a place that was special to them
Donate or fundraise in their memory
Create a special memory decoration for your Christmas tree, it could have your loved one’s name, personal dedication, or photo.
You can visit our In Loving Memory Tree at the Kettering Christmas Tree Festival, St Andrews Church and leave your own special memory on our ‘In Memory Tree’ whenever the church is open or on the following dates: Saturday 20th December from 10-4.30pm ; Tuesday 23rd December from 7-9pm; and Saturday 27th December 10am-1pm.

Thank you to everyone who visited the United Reform Church Christmas Tree Festival in Wellingborough over the weekend and to those who added a personal dedication in memory of a loved one to our tree.

Our Christmas tree is now safely back in our Wellingborough funeral home and is full of the most beautiful and heartfelt messages and we are so incredibly grateful to all those who have contributed.
