Embracing Positivity in Action
In our hypnotherapy sessions, we often explore Positive Steps to help us move forward.

Last Saturday, I met with friends to make a Winter Wreath — a truly mindful and uplifting activity.
It gave me:
• Positive Action – focusing on the task brought calm and relaxation.
• Positive Interaction – connecting with friends, offering support and encouragement.
• Positive Pleasure – joy in creating something beautiful to display.
• Positive Purpose – completing the wreath gave me a sense of achievement and something meaningful to enjoy daily.
I even mixed up the accessories from last year, while keeping my work colours in the design — small details that mattered.

Here’s why cultivating positivity matters:
• Positive Thoughts – move us away from depression, strengthen resilience, and support psychological and physical wellbeing.
• Positive Actions – mindful or physical actions release dopamine and endorphins, lifting mood and enhancing self-esteem.
• Positive Interactions – meaningful connections, smiles, kind words, and gratitude benefit both you and others.
• Positive Purpose – a sense of purpose is linked to longer life, healthier hearts, greater confidence, happiness, and resilience.
• Positive Pleasure – boosts immunity, protects the heart, reduces pain and stress, increases creativity, productivity, and overall wellbeing.

Bereavement goes in the cycle of grief, affecting people in different ways.
There is no ‘normal’ way to grieve.
There is no set timeframe to the cycle of grief.
Grief will come in waves and sometimes surprise us when we’re not expecting it!
Significant dates such as Christmas, birthdays, or hearing the news of someone else passing, can trigger the emotional cycle in people who have recently lost a loved one. This could be the loss of a family member, friend, or a pet.
For some, Christmas isn’t always the happiest time of the year — maybe you have concerns about someone you love. We can’t always provide the support we’d like for those in our care, and feeling helpless as we watch them suffer is so hard. Hypnotherapy may be the answer to support you through.

Have you noticed that the mornings are staying darker for longer, and the evenings are closing in earlier?

For some, autumn brings cosy, grounding moments, but for others, the shorter days can trigger a dip in mood. This is often linked to Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD), a form of low mood that can appear as the seasons change.

Why does this happen?
Our brains and bodies rely on natural light. The hypothalamus, which plays a key role in mood, sleep, and appetite, depends on daylight to regulate important chemicals. When daylight decreases, some people feel tired, notice changes in appetite, or experience low mood.
