In February, members from our Corby centre visited Lakelands Hospice with handmade ornaments they'd spent the winter creating 💙
The ornaments were for the Hospice's sensory garden and new raised vegetable beds that they've been working on with the Hospice's gardening team for over a year.
The main outdoor work was completed by winter, giving Hospice clients a calm and welcoming space to enjoy.
Back at our Corby centre, the work continued - members spent the winter months making and decorating ornaments to brighten the garden for the people who spend time there.
Jackie, Volunteer Coordinator at Lakelands Hospice, said: "Collectively the members have made a huge difference in the grounds, and their efforts are very much appreciated by our patients, staff and volunteers."
The February visit wasn't only a delivery. Plans for the new growing season were made too, with seeds to plant, weeding to do, and bug, butterfly and bee homes on the way.
Jess, one of our Corby members, added: "I enjoy sorting the garden so it looks nice for the people at the Hospice. Jackie has always been really nice to us, making sure we get drinks and biscuits!" 🙌
A huge well done to our Corby members for their work on this amazing project!
