An Inspiring Evening at the SIA Gunpowder Ball 🎆💙

Last night, we had the privilege of attending and being proud sponsors at the Spinal Injuries Association’s Gunpowder Ball — an inspiring evening in support of people rebuilding their lives after spinal cord injury.

It was a night filled with powerful stories, generosity, and a shared commitment to independence, inclusion, and hope. The work that SIA does — from providing expert advice and advocacy to funding vital services — truly changes lives.

A huge thank you to the organisers, volunteers, and everyone who donated. Together, we’re helping to ensure that life after spinal cord injury is a life fully lived. 💙

It was wonderful catching up with the lovely SIA team — Lady-Marie Dawson, Gary Dawson, Alison Hayward, Sallie Stone-Bears, and Simon Pinnell — and sharing such a fantastic evening with our brilliant table guests:
Robena Dhadda, Rhiannon Stokes, Fleur Akrigg, Rachel Blades, Lena Walliman, Arjun Garcha, and Claire Stickley, who made the evening even more superb with their stories, laughter, and company. ❤

Time for Change: PCS at the UKABIF Summit 🧠💙

Yesterday, Premium Care Solutions had the pleasure of attending the Time for Change Summit, hosted by United Kingdom Acquired Brain Injury Forum .

The event provided a fantastic opportunity to reconnect with familiar faces and meet new ones, while engaging in meaningful discussions on the many challenges and innovations surrounding brain injury.

The talks throughout the day were both insightful and inspiring. It was particularly moving to hear from Ashley Dalton, MP, who spoke with passion about the changes needed to better support individuals living with brain injuries. Her advocacy and resilience — especially while navigating her own journey with incurable breast cancer — are truly inspirational. 💪💙

The Symposium also offered valuable insights. One powerful statistic shared was that 40,000 children acquire a brain injury each year — equivalent to one child in every classroom. It’s encouraging to see how ongoing research and the dedication of so many remarkable professionals are driving progress and improving lives.

A huge thank you to UKABIF for hosting such an engaging and thought-provoking event. We’re proud to be part of a community so committed to driving meaningful change in brain injury awareness, care, and rehabilitation.

From Collision to Care: Navigating the Journey from Road Traffic Injury to Home-Based Recovery 🚑💙

Premium Care Solutions is proud to be co-hosting an important event alongside Complexus Care, Positive OT, and Stewarts — with support from CMSUK — in Leeds on Wednesday 19th November 2025.

This insightful afternoon will bring together care managers, rehabilitation professionals, and legal experts to explore the journey from road traffic injury to home-based recovery. Chaired by Jackie Chappel (Positive OT), the event will feature a mix of lived experience, professional expertise, and charity perspectives from:

💛 Headway
❤ Brake

🎤 Presentations from SIA, Headway, and Brake will highlight the vital work these charities do to support individuals and families affected by life-changing injuries.

With presentations from Stewarts on legal perspectives, and talks from individuals and organisations who are driving positive change in rehabilitation — including a representative from the Air Ambulance, sharing insight into the emergency response following road traffic incidents — this promises to be a day of learning, connection, and inspiration.

All proceeds from the event will go directly to SIA, Headway, and Brake, supporting their ongoing work to improve outcomes for those affected by catastrophic injuries.

Standing Together for Change: PCS at the House of Commons 🇬🇧✨

On Monday 27th October, Premium Care Solutions were honoured to attend the APPG Inquiry Launch at the House of Commons, kindly invited by the Spinal Injuries Association.

It was an inspiring and thought-provoking event — bringing together individuals with lived experience, healthcare professionals, and organisations across the sector — all united by a shared vision: to build a National Spinal Cord Injury Strategy. 💪

Hearing from so many passionate voices, including the powerful words shared by Louisa Tempest, was a reminder of why this strategy is so important. The drive to improve spinal cord injury care, advocacy, and outcomes is something that resonates deeply with our mission at PCS — to empower clients and their families to live as independently and confidently as possible. 🌟

A huge thank you to the Spinal Injuries Association for hosting such a meaningful event, and to everyone involved in creating and supporting this important report. We are proud to stand alongside so many dedicated professionals and advocates working to shape the future of spinal cord injury care.

We’re currently recruiting for a Full-Time Support Worker to join our team and support a male client with a Spinal Cord Injury, living in his own home in Croydon.

💙 Our client is a football fan, animal lover (with a small, calm dog 🐶), and enjoys music and game shows. He’s non-verbal but communicates his needs clearly and has a brilliant sense of humour!

💼 Role Details:

Working on a 2:1 basis in a family home

Support with daily living, personal care, and social activities

Full training provided

Pay: £18–£19 per hour

🧠 Clinical Needs Include:

Tracheostomy & ventilation support

PEG feeding

Catheter care

✅ What We’re Looking For:

A calm, patient, and compassionate person

A team player with good observation & communication skills

Must be comfortable around dogs

Willingness to learn—experience with complex care is a bonus, but not essential

We are currently recruiting experienced Female Support Workers to join our team and support a client with a Spinal Cord Injury, living independently in their own home in Buntingford.

Pay: £16–£18 per hour

✅ What We're Looking For:

You MUST have experience working as a Healthcare Assistant

Experience with spinal cord injuries is preferred, but not essential

Must be comfortable around large dogs and happy to interact with them (there are 2 in the home)
