Kettering Mind We are Kettering Mind, your local mental health charity. We’ll listen, give you support and advice and fight your corner.

We believe no one should have to face a mental health problem alone, so we’re here for you whether you’re stressed, depressed or in crisis or just want some ideas about how to look after your mental health. We are a registered charity affiliated to National Mind who are dedicated to supporting and empowering anyone experiencing a mental health problem, through a wide variety of services.

Today is Race Against Dementia Day (RAD) which is a day dedicated to raising funds to help beat dementia. The funds raised for RAD Day will provide support for the Race Against Dementia Fellowship Programme that aims to develop the RAD Research Fellows and take them to an F1 level of collaboration, teamwork and innovation.

Every Monday (excluding bank holidays) we host a drop-in where you can come into Kettering Mind and socialise with peers. Soup and a roll, drinks and cake are available to purchase for a small fee too. We will also have a mental health navigator present if your looking for support. Todays feedback comes from an Individual who recently attended our depression management course.

“I feel as though I have been listened to and helped to understand my thoughts and feelings. Knowing I am not alone in the way I feel helps.”

The course will help individuals understand the signs and symptoms of depression, explore the impact on their day to day lives, and offer practical, do-able tools, tips and techniques that will help individuals take steps to their recovery. Our mental health navigators, Jen and Cory, provide support in the community to help people improve their general wellbeing. If you're experiencing stress, anxiety, depression or recovering from a mental health condition and are struggling to move forward and find the right support, then a Mental Health Navigator may be for you.

Our navigators can:

🔹Meet you in a public venue of your choosing between the hours of 9-5, Monday-Friday

🔹Actively listen to what you want to do to make positive changes to improve your wellbeing

🔹Help you assess whether you are ready to make those changes and support you in planning a pathway for them

🔹Give information of appropriate support agencies that you may wish to use

🔹Motivate and empower you to make those changes and maintain them in the long term
