Today is Human Rights Day 2025 and this years theme is "Our Everyday Essentials," highlighting how human rights are a fundamental part of daily life.

The aim of Human Rights Day is to re-engage people with human rights by showing how they shape our daily lives, often in ways we may not always notice. Too often taken for granted or seen as abstract ideas, human rights are the essentials we rely on every day. By bridging the gap between human rights principles and everyday experiences, this campaign aims to spark awareness, inspire confidence and encourage collective action.

Here at Kettering Mind we believe that everyone deserves the right to be treated equally. With regards to mental health we won't give up until everyone experiencing a mental health problem gets support and respect. 💙

A reminder that one of our Community Wellbeing Champions, Emily, has recently started a new ADHD peer support group in Kettering. This is held on Mondays from 4-6pm and has since starting has been a real success!

This group is for people with an ADHD diagnosis, or awaiting a diagnosis, to meet one another to have supportive conversations and share tips to help. A few weeks ago came along to show his support to this brilliant group too!

A massive thanks to for hosting this group and supporting the group in many ways. The team at Amino are very friendly and ensure this is a positive environment for all.

During November there was a lot of focus on men's health both physical and mental health due to global campaigns like Movember. During the month Callum from Kettering Mind visited Tresham College alongside Mike from .

Together they spoke with over 40 male students about men's mental health and what masculinity means to them, leading into conversations around the stigma around men's mental health and the pressures men face. It is great to be able to attend events like this and help reduce the stigma and break down barriers!

Check out the Brotherhood and all the different support groups they have in Kettering and other local areas. They are helping make a real positive difference within our local area with regards to men's mental health.

As its anger awareness week we thought we would showcase some feedback from a recent anger management course. In this course, we’ll look to gain a better understanding of anger, its implications consequences and how it affects us, and what individuals can do to reduce the impact it has on their life and improve their wellbeing.

Follow the link below for further information and to see our referral form for this course. 👇

This week is National Grief Awareness Week, with the theme "Growing with Grief". This year focuses on how growth and hope can emerge from loss.

Grief has no timeline and there is no “right” way to feel. Be gentle with yourself and others as you navigate loss, healing takes time. Grief affects everyone differently. Some days hurt more than others, and that’s okay.

Take a look at the link below for further information, remember it’s okay to miss them. It’s okay to cry. It’s okay to laugh again too. Whatever grief looks like for you, we’re here to listen. 💙

This week is anger awareness week which is all about recognising the causes and symptoms of anger, and learning healthier ways of expressing it constructively. The week aims to raise awareness of anger as a social issue and to provide information on coping strategies and support services.

Anger is a natural emotion no different to happiness or sadness. We experience anger as a response to feeling attacked, being treated unfairly, someone has broken a rule that is important to you or an expectation has not been met among other personal reasons. Much of our experience of anger is thought to be negative though that isn’t always the case. Anger is often not the issue, though how we react when we are angry for instance, aggressive behaviour, can become an issue.

If you are looking for some support with regards to anger management then take a look at the link below, we an anger management course which is due to start again in January.
