Today is self harm/injury awareness day which aims to to raise awareness, reduce stigma and promote help-seeking around self harm. In the UK and globally, it’s an opportunity for individuals, communities and organisations to speak with one voice in support of those affected. Everyone is encouraged to get involved and help to spread the message.

People self harm for many reasons, including bullying, academic or work pressures, family conflict, relationship issues, low self-esteem, anxiety, depression, identity struggles, bereavement, abuse or addiction. There is no single cause.

The 2026 theme, Connection Is Coping: Finding Support Together, highlights how reaching out is a powerful step toward healing. When we feel overwhelmed, connection – not isolation – is key to managing distress. Finding support together can offer a powerful message of hope.

If this speaks to you, speak to us. We are here for you. 💙

Todays feedback comes from an individual who has recently has 1-1 support sessions at Kettering Mind.

"I've been able to meet up with friends and reach out to people that before accessing support, I would not have done. I feel like I can think with more clarity and felt assurance in myself. This has really helped me regain confidence in myself and rebuild emotional resilience after a very tough period of my life."

If you feel that your would benefit from some support, then follow the link below to see what we offer. We are here for you when you need us 💙

As LGBT+ History Month is coming to an end, an important reminder that our commitment to visibility, equality, and pride does not.

LGBTQ+ history didn’t start with this month and it doesn’t end here. It lives in everyday courage, chosen families, ongoing movements, and the freedom to be unapologetically ourselves.

We honour the past, stand strong in the present, and keep building a future where everyone belongs. LGBT+ history is forever, just like our pride. 🏳️‍🌈

Don't forget about these brilliant new groups in Kettering. 👇

All of these groups have been set up by Community Wellbeing Champions who are looking to make a positive difference in our local community. These champions are part of our Community Wellbeing Champion service and have undertaken training with Callum from Kettering Mind.

There is an ADHD peer support group, a single parents support group and a social support group for women. Take a look at the posters to see if any of these sound beneficial to you, if so why not give it a go! We are extremely proud of these Community Wellbeing Champions who are bringing such positive groups to the local area 💙

During Children’s Mental Health Week, we had the pleasure of visiting Hall Meadow Primary School, one of our valued community partners. On the day of our visit, the school held a fundraising activity and raised an incredible £178.62 for Kettering Mind. We are so grateful for your continued support and generosity, it truly makes a difference!

The students created thoughtful posters showing the places where they feel a true sense of belonging, and we selected these three as our winners for the day. A huge thank you to Hall Meadow Primary School for another fantastic day, we always love being part of such meaningful and special moments. 💙
