Progress.

One of our wonderful clients with Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD) used to have frequent periods of hyperverbal speech — talking non-stop, tapping his fingers constantly, and breaking into loud song at moments that felt out of place.

Excellent!! This type of guided walking exercise does more than just support movement — it actively engages the brain. The structure and novelty of having two people and moving poles stimulate several areas at once: motor (for movement), sensory (for body awareness), and emotional (for confidence and connection). This multi-layered input encourages the brain to rebuild and strengthen its internal pathways, a process known as neuroplasticity.
