Dark chocolate/cocoa health benefits.

It contains more antioxidants than any fruit.
May lower blood pressure.
Potentially lowers the risk of heart disease.
Protects against sun damage.
May improve brain function.
Phew eh? 😮
So what do I look for in my dark chocolate purchase I hear you ask?
Never go lower than 70% cocoa. If you can, aim for 84% and higher. The higher the %, the higher the antioxidants and nutrients.
The higher the %, the lower the sugar content will be.
Looking at the label.. lecithin isn’t necessary, avoid if possible. Make sure there is no added sugar, or it’s the last listed ingredient. Milk fat is not needed, trans fats, are not needed, so if it says the words Hydrogenated or Partially Hydrogenated, it contains trans fats, so put it back on the shelf 😉
Keep it Organic, keep it Fair Trade. You know it makes sense.
Oh, also gonna just put it out there, dark chocolate might just perk up your sexlife too. And I don’t just mean she’ll be thankful you bought her a bar. 😉 think blood flow, and dopamine.
So am I telling you to sink a bar a day? Lordy, no. But a few squares a day, maybe 5 days a week, or an amazing quality hot chocolate, will certainly be a winner.
