Women experience foot problems around four times more often than men, and a big part of this comes down to footwear choices 👠 Narrow toe boxes and high heels can put extra pressure on the feet and toes, which can lead to a range of painful issues over time.

This is an incredible achievement and a proud moment for New Feet / Mourne Feet. Roisin’s dedication to continuous learning reflects exactly what we stand for as podiatrists and medical professionals. We are always reviewing, questioning, and developing our knowledge to ensure the very best care for our patients.

We’re really looking forward to sharing Roisin’s research in the near future and exploring its implications within podiatry. This Masters has been an important part of her professional journey, and it’s one that will benefit both our team and our patients in meaningful ways.

Did you know the bones in our feet don’t fully mature until we’re around 21? 👣

Even though about a quarter of all the bones in the human body are found in the feet, we’re not born with them fully formed. Those gorgeous chunky baby feet are mostly cartilage and they don’t even have an arch yet.

That’s one of the reasons babies can’t walk when they’re born. As children grow, the arch begins to develop around age two and the cartilage slowly hardens into bone. This process continues right through childhood and into early adulthood.

It’s a great reminder of just how important foot health is at every stage of life, from tiny toes to grown up feet 🤍
