It’s been a week packed full of football and illness…actually it’s been two days of the cold and I’m already over it 😭

Everything matters until you are unwell…then the only thing that matters is your heath 🙃 professional at giving advice, not so professional at taking it 😅

Baking has been a new little side quest for this sports therapist 💁🏻‍♀️ if I’m not writing rehab plans or pitchside then I’m baking…and I’m doing my best not to feel guilty about it 😬 much easier said than done!

The run of home games is coming to an end with an away game this weekend. So that means a big packing night coming up tomorrow 🫠 ah the stress that is about to commence! Who knew packing everything possible for any injury that may occur would be anxiety inducing 😅

A little midweek trip to Oriam was exciting and with the weather starting to heat up I couldn’t complain too much about the cold 🥶😅

If there was one thing that got me through the endless trains 🚂 and hours freezing pitchside…it was the snacks 🤩

Working as a sports therapist I work in teams with so many different people. People that have different roles, some that overlap, other side that are essential for my part to run. Couldn’t be more grateful for the teams I work within 🙌🏻

If you are thinking about a career in the sports industry, maybe not as a sports therapist…just be prepared to p*e in a portaloo! 😅 because no one told me about that side of it 🙃

We don’t take team photos of the management, we take pictures of our named water bottles…how cute 🥰

I’m making more of an effort to have some time off, and that means more time by the water!

Return to play players this week currently stands at zero…not sad about it. They just weren’t ready. But we keep working towards it and I keep being okay with being the bad guy 🫠 okay I’m working on that part 😬

Oh and my sister brought home a keyboard…so obviously I learnt The Fate of Ophelia 💁🏻‍♀️ because what other song would it be 😅

A night away 🤩 aperol took a back seat (only because I was disappointed with the first one😅)

Challenging sessions…some more of a mental challenge than a physical. As a Sports Therapist, the goals set are very physical focused but we have to make sure the mental side keeps up with that. Challenging players mentally…I do try to keep them on their toes 🤪

Our first home league game in what feels like forever 😍 I’ve missed the changing rooms looking like this!!

This weeks sweetie haul was appreciated by some, and not by others 🤷🏻‍♀️ can’t win them all!

A little trip to the barras 🤠 and we had the most amazing food!

FMS testing was practiced this week…pre-season planning is well underway 😉

While we are rehabbing one injury, it’s a good opportunity to work on the lingering things players have been putting off…like back pain 🫠🙃

Swapped my steak bake…only once did that happen this week so no stress, I’m not going off the rails 😅

And met the cutest guy you’ll ever see 🥰 Hudson 🐶 tired him out with my chat clearly 😴

Week 3/52 ☑️

I’ve been working on not burning out recently so I’ve started studying Pilates 😅 because why not add to the to do list 🤷🏻‍♀️ I’ve been loving weekly Pilates sessions as part of my own training so in the coming weeks I’ll be full qualified 😍 being able to take classes (specific for athletes AND add a little sprinkle in to rehab…can’t wait!)

Killie academy has been busy - little hiccup this week with a head of fib fracture for a young player 😢 but it’s all part of the game 🤷🏻‍♀️

Taking more time to walk…even though it may be forced. Sometimes it’s worth it 😅

A cheeky midweek friendly. Eventful on the pitchside for me but a RTP for a player makes it all worth it 😍 even if that means get sprayed with spew 🙃 I love my job, I swear 😅

This week’s sweetie haul from M&S. Players coming off mid game, I’m sorry the bench have eaten all the sweets. I did try hide a bag but they are like bloodhounds and sniff them out 😅

Coffee shop decor is just the cutest 🥰

This week has been the week of public transport…enough said 🤣

Pitchside bit webinar was still watched/listened to. It was around the mental side of injury, which is such a huge sticking point in so many players journeys. Although physical recover may have happened, doesn’t mean players are ready to return to sport ⚽️

More trains 🚂 and all my bags…we know I don’t pack light to go anywhere!!!

I would not survive in this job without I wear them every session. If you work pitchside and don’t then you are missing out big time! Even some of the boys wear them to play 🤣

First football game of the new year ticked off ✔️ no injuries for my team, but a pretty tough one for the other team 😬

Girls Academy was definitely a highlight! Degrees in yapology all round 👏🏼

Trying to get in to a better routine with my own training and reformer Pilates is always a fun time 😍

My outfit changes in a day never mind a week, clinic one minute, coaching next and then football 😅 wouldn’t have it any other way!

Making banana bread to celebrate a players successful return to the pitch…just for some runs and a touch of the ball but you’ve got to take the wins when they come 🤩

Can you believe that deep heat cost £5 😳 it shall be used sparingly!!

My desk set up is as chaotic as my mind…enough said about that 😅

I’m making more of a conscious effort to take time to treat myself, so that’s what I managed to squeeze in this week. Some time under the infrared lamp 😍
