What a fantastic night we had at Saturday’s Ceilidh Dance! 💛

A huge thank you to everyone who came along, danced, laughed and supported The Magpie Centre. It was so heart-warming to see our community come together and fill the room with such amazing energy and joy.

We’re also incredibly grateful to our wonderful volunteers. From planning and decorating to selling tickets, running the raffle and clearing up at the end, you truly made the night a huge success. Our volunteer team really do know how to put on a great event!

Thanks to your support, we raised an incredible £944.60 for The Magpie Centre. We couldn’t do this without you.

Thank you for showing up, getting involved and supporting our centre, it means the world to us. 💛

👀 Peek-a-boo!

Well hello there… it’s Ginger! 🧡

One of our beloved ponies decided to play a little game of hide and seek behind the field fence today, although we’re not sure she’s quite mastered the “hiding” part yet!

Ginger’s cheeky personality always keeps us smiling, and moments like this are a lovely reminder of just how special our ponies are here at The Magpie Centre. 🐴✨

🌟 It’s not just about riding at the Magpie Centre… 🌟

Every week, our Stable Management participants roll up their sleeves and get hands-on with the real heart of horse care. Last week, two of our regular participants were learning the basics—mucking out, yard care, and understanding what it takes to keep our horses happy and healthy.

These sessions build confidence, responsibility, and connection… and they remind us that caring for horses happens long before you’re in the saddle.

We’re so proud of the hard work and enthusiasm they bring to the yard each week 💙

☀️ The sun is finally here! ☀️

Our last ride of the day made the most of this gorgeous evening with a peaceful hack out… the first time they’ve been able to ride outside of the indoor school since October!

After months of wind, rain, and soggy paddocks, it was great to enjoy the fresh air, and soak up a bit of sunshine this evening!

Here’s to many more rides like this as the days get lighter and brighter 💚🐴

✨ On Tuesday we had the absolute pleasure of welcoming Little Discoverers to the Magpie Centre

Twenty‑three wonderful children joined us for a fun‑filled hour and a half, getting hands‑on with some of our horses and ponies, learning all about grooming, and enjoying creative time with colouring and picture‑drawing with Pebbles 🐴

It was such a joy to see their confidence grow and their smiles light up the yard.
A huge thank you to everyone who came along — it was a truly lovely day and we hope to see you all again soon.

Last week we were proud to take part in this year’s Rotary Swimarathon 🏊

Swimming in support of The Magpie Centre, we split into 2 teams of 5 and took on a one-hour relay challenge, one length each at a time, tagging in and out nonstop. It was fast, focused, and full of team spirit.

Together, we completed an incredible 244 lengths in 60 minutes 💪

A brilliant effort!. Huge thank you to everyone who swam, donated, and supported us, every single length made a difference. 💛

Updates From Our Equine Assisted Therapy Team

Decision making….

Can be difficult for us all but some people find it especially hard. Usually what we may fear is that we will “get it wrong”. Using horses to help us break down the process of making choices and our anxieties around it can make a big difference.

We hide treats under cones in the field to see if cone colour influenced the horses decision .

🎄 A Wonderful Gift from the Denver Church Christmas Tree Festival 🎄

Back in December, we shared the exciting news that we had been chosen as one of the three charities supported by the Denver Church Christmas Tree Festival.

Today, Rosemary visited the Centre on behalf of the Denver Parochial Church Council to present us with a cheque for £500! ✨

What an amazing amount raised. We are truly grateful for this generous donation and honoured to have been selected as one of their chosen charities. Your support helps us continue the work we’re so passionate about, and we can’t thank you enough. 🌟
