The Home Instead Norfolk franchise group comprises of three franchises, West Norfolk, Mid Norfolk and North Norfolk. Present day it is run by Husband and Wife team Tom and Laura McEwan

The decision to go into care was made in 2008 after a local family member received very poor care, however, a family member in the north of England received a fantastic service from a Home Instead Senior Care branch. From the very beginning our aim has been to provide good quality care, enabling people to stay in their own familiar surroundings, improving the quality of life and to give piece of mind to the whole family. Each individual package is tailored to meet the needs and requirements on an outcome based care plan. We have now built a fantastic reputation across West Norfolk and have built relationships with various councils, hospitals & numerous health centres. The company now employs over 200 CAREGiver's from all walks of life, but each with the same goal in mind.... to provide the very best support and care to the elderly people across west Norfolk. What Makes us different? No Rushing

We realise many elderly don’t like to be rushed. At Home Instead Senior Care we have a minimum of 1 Hour visits, that means that the service we provide is the very best available and our CAREGivers have the time to get to know our clients. No Strangers

Continuity is key, Our CAREGivers are matched to our clients' personalities and needs so that a bond can be struck up and over time trust can develop between the two. We have many clients who have just one regular CAREGiver, which enables a great service. With clients who require a significant amount of care (more than one visit daily) then we will make you aware of all the CAREGivers that will be coming in, we will come out and introduce you to any new CAREGivers, which rarely exceeds 3, even in the most complex of cases. Home Instead Senior Care was born due to our own experiences with poor care, we have filtered down our companies ethos to our teams of office staff and CAREGivers. We regularly keep in touch with our clients, be it a home visit or a telephone call to make sure that they are more than satisfied with the service and to see if we can help in any other ways. I couldn’t be prouder to share that Home Instead Cambridge has been awarded Franchise of the Year at this year’s conference — a truly special achievement for a team that has come such a long way in a short time.

When we took over the Cambridge franchise in January 2023, it was clear that the culture and atmosphere were very different to what we were used to. We needed to reset the whole business — including relocating to a central, prominent Cambridge office — and rebuild the culture from the ground up.

The introduction of Caroline Groves to the team was absolutely instrumental in that turnaround. Caroline worked tirelessly alongside Caz (reliability and respect award winner) to embed our values, shift the culture, and attract some incredible new people to the team. The results speak for themselves:
✅ One of the fastest-growing offices in the network
✅ Best-improved PEAQ survey results
✅ Full compliance with National Office standards
But most importantly — the Cambridge office now feels like one of our Norfolk branches: positive, caring, and full of energy.

Caroline has truly worked wonders, and it’s been brilliant to see her move into her new Group Operations Manager role. She has a unique ability to stay upbeat and find positives even on the toughest days — her “Win the Week” initiative and infectious enthusiasm have become part of our DNA.

We’re incredibly lucky to have her. 💜

This November our thoughts turn once again to Remembrance Day on the 11th, and the solemn observance of Remembrance Sunday on November 9th. These days offer a vital opportunity to pause, reflect, and pay our deepest respects to the countless servicemen and women who have defended our freedoms and way of life.

The sight of the vibrant red poppy, a powerful symbol of sacrifice and hope, will soon be everywhere. This year, the Mid-Office team is proud to announce its dedicated support for the Royal British Legion (RBL) and its annual Poppy Appeal.

Our amazing Care Pro Rachel received two awards this week for her dedication to the role. 🫶

Rachel was nominated as Care Pro of the month - Rachel has been an amazing support to one of her clients, being there consistently supporting other care professionals and having such a positive attitude. She has been encouraging him to regain his independence and provide him with the upmost dignity and respect. She has also received very positive feedback about how much he likes her and how proactive she has been in making sure family members are informed regarding his wellbeing.

Rachel was also awarded a Reliability and Respect recognition award by Mid Scheduler Kim for showing dedication to her clients and her co-workers. 'Rachel was even walking and cycling to clients so that they are cared for whilst she was without a car. She also showed great dedication and respect to her co-worker during a visit, and looked after both client and colleague in a positive and supportive manner when colleague became poorly'
