Are You Ready To Run After ACL Repair?
When returning to running after ACL rehab, the knee is exposed to up to 5 x bodyweight with every step.
There is no way to replicate that level of load through strength training alone.
So once you are strong enough and have hit the objective markers to clear running, the next step is essential.
Plyometrics.
They bridge the gap between gym strength and the demands of running.
Here are some of the exercises I’ve used with before getting him back to running after ACL repair:
▪️ Box Assisted Single Leg Pogos
▪️ Single Leg Pogos
▪️ A Skips On The Spot
▪️ Pogos
▪️ Countermovement Jump
If you skip this stage, the knee often tells you pretty quickly.
If you are post ACL surgery and unsure whether you are truly ready to start running, drop me a message or book in via the link in bio and we will assess it properly.
