Testimonial Tuesday: This week we're hearing from a parent about their son's incredible growth in understanding his own sensory needs. The journey to self-advocacy is powerful, and we're grateful to share these stories. ๐Ÿ’™

Sensory tools arenโ€™t just toys, they help children and adults regulate, focus, and feel grounded, supporting emotional wellbeing and movement in our space.

A big shoutout to for leading by example and creating more inclusive community spaces. ๐Ÿ’™

๐Ÿ’› One Year of The Fidget Project CIC ๐Ÿ’›

In our first year, your support has helped us reach families, schools and communities across South Hams, offering understanding, practical tools and safe spaces for neurodivergent children.

Weโ€™ve learned, grown, and made a necessary pivot, focusing on delivering local services that make a real difference, right where theyโ€™re needed most.

Thank you for believing in this work.
Thank you for standing with our community.

๐Ÿ’› Supporting Parents. Understanding Sensory Needs. Building Safer Schools.

Last week, the Fidget Project team was pleased to deliver a parent support session at East Allington Primary School, kindly invited by SENDCo Emily Risby.

Together with parents, we explored how sensory processing differences shape everyday experiences for neurodivergent children; from sound, touch and movement, to recognising hunger, balance, and body awareness.

Led by Emma Wise, Sensory Integration-aware Theraplay practitioner, the session offered:

โœจ Practical, real-life strategies
โœจ Gentle ways to reduce overload and support regulation
โœจ Space for honest conversations grounded in lived experience

When we begin to understand sensory overload, we begin to understand behaviour, and how deeply it affects learning, wellbeing, and family life.

The session ended with children exploring our fidget tools (the Montessori anxiety board and squidgy balls were firm favourites!) and parents staying back to keep the conversation going ๐Ÿ’ฌ

We were even asked to come back, next time for staff too, and weโ€™d be delighted.

๐Ÿ’› Thank you for supporting our work.

Your interest keeps us going, and your donations make sessions like this possible.

Many neurodiverse children arenโ€™t struggling with behaviour; theyโ€™re struggling with sensory overload.

In this video, Lynne shares why The Fidget Project CIC exists, whatโ€™s missing in current SEND provision, and how understanding sensory processing can change outcomes for children, families, and schools.

This is about helping children feel safe in their bodies, regulate their senses, and access learning with dignity.

If you work in education, health, community support, or care about inclusive futures; this is worth a few minutes of your time.
