No classes running Weds/ Thurs/ Fri next week. Sorry folks! I have tried to minimise closing the doors during all the building work, but it's time - the builders, carpenters and decorators will be busy

If any one is sad to miss yoga, my Monday 9.30am, Monday 11am Chair, and Tues 6.15pm classes are still running next week, and failing that - join online at 7.45am Thurs. PM me for details.

Can you even remember January 2022, it feels like a lifetime ago! I ran my first class in the studio in January 2022, plain walls, some Ikea shelves, a few props and nothing else!!

After 4 years of holding prices the same, and seeing my costs escalate (especially with business rates and energy bills), there will be a small update from April 6th.

The new pricing hopefully reflects a little better the value offered for each class: a unique location next to the sea and nature reserve, free parking outside, a dedicated warm and welcoming space, most sessions at 75 mins, a full set of quality props, yoga chairs and weaver green blankets, a cosy space with infrared heaters and a fire, and an instructor who spends countless hours in continued training and class planning for you all :-)

• £12 per class on a pass
Existing class passes honoured at their current £10 rate.

I've been a bit quiet on here recently! Mostly because since the storms in Torcross, a lot of time has been dedicated to working with the community to engage the Environment Agency. Nick and I, along with many others in the village, have been working to make sure the full extent of the situation here was fully understood by various agencies, demonstrating how the sea front properties might not survive another winter without immediate help. Initially we were told some pretty dire news about liklihood for help/ funding/ timescales but things look brighter now and we are hopeful for some new sea defences to protect the village for decades to come.

This emotional and stressful roller coaster ride meant we were unsure whether to proceed with our exciting plans for the Studio, and whether to invest in this space in the heart of the village.... but we've decided to crack on, and bring to life the full vision we have for a coastal wellness centre! Eeek, it's scary!

The work has started, there is SO much to do! In the meantime the studio is unaffected by the works, so classes all continue as normal.

We believe in Torcross 100% and are all in! Work has started to renovate the rest of the commercial footprint of the old Start Bay Stores!

Ahead of Caroline Voaden’s meeting today (Weds 11 Feb).

- Come and visit Torcross and drive the B road himself
- Recognise how vital this area is to the South West tourism economy
- Remember this is a national treasure, not just a local issue

If you haven't already had a listen, head to BBC Iplayer, Radio Devon - listen to today's programme and start at about 2 hours 10mins along, listen to Julian Brazil, and then John Acres (host) kindly gave me 10 mins of airtime (starting at 2hours 17) to explain the impact of losing the A379 road here along Slapton line, and what we need our local MP to do to secure emergency funding to fix it, and put into position better sea defences for Torcross village (as is articulated in the Shoreline Mgt Plan). https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m002qhfz

Despite no road along Slapton line, classes are still running at Start Bay Studio as normal. Perhaps we need them more than ever!
