Four years ago, Pure Block Management became a standalone business and officially joined the Garness Group, and it’s been quite a journey since.

Working alongside our fellow group companies, Garness Jones, Gro Residential, and Barry Crux & Co has been a big part of that story. Over the past few years, we’ve moved our office from Beverley Road to Hull’s Fruit Market, expanded our team as the business has grown, and welcomed new developments across Yorkshire, including Harrogate and Whitby.

We’ve continued to strengthen our presence in the place it all started, Hull, while also growing our presence in York and North Yorkshire. Behind the scenes, we’ve also introduced a new Leaseholder Portal, making it easier for residents to access important documents and stay informed.

Here’s to many more years of continued growth. 🥂

Cladding remediation is one of the most complex and high-risk challenges still facing residential buildings today, and it’s an area where experience, persistence, and the right technical partners really matter.

At Pure Block Management, we're currently managing four developments that are progressing through the Cladding Safety Scheme, securing government funding to reduce fire risk associated with combustible materials and missing cavity barriers.

Each project requires a different approach:

🏗️ Our work at Kemley House is well underway and already past the halfway point. Alongside cladding remediation, we also successfully secured funding for replacement windows on affected elevations due to their integration with the cladding system.

🏗️ Another project, Spring Street, started in February and involves full building remediation and exterior material changes. This scheme has required close collaboration with the local authority due to planning constraints and area-specific design requirements.

🏗️ In the next six months, work on Trinity Wharf is due to start. While only a small amount of visible timber cladding needs replacing, the primary risk is the absence of cavity barriers. Ordinarily, this would mean removing large sections of the brick façade. Instead, by working with our specialist contacts, we've developed a "sock system" solution. This significantly reduces scaffolding, noise, disruption, programme length, and planning hurdles, allowing works to start sooner for residents' benefit.

🏗️ Finally, a high-rise project, Queens Court, is due to start later this year, which has taken longer to progress due to the Building Safety Regulator requirements and the scale and complexity of the works involved.

These projects demand more than just coordination — they require technical understanding, funding expertise, regulator engagement, and resident-focused decision making. It’s a responsibility we take seriously, and one we’re proud to be delivering on.

If you’re navigating cladding remediation, building safety compliance, or funding routes, this is where the right managing agent makes a real difference.

We’re pleased to confirm the appointment of Bell Building Projects Ltd as Principal Contractor for the construction phase of the fire remediation works at Spring Street, Hull, with Wainwrights acting as Contract Administrator.

The scheme will involve the full removal and replacement of the existing cladding with new A1/A2 fire-rated systems, improving safety and ensuring the building complies with current standards. Works will also include façade upgrades and the careful removal and reinstatement of external services.

Spring Street comprises 72 occupied apartments, and throughout the works our focus will remain on resident safety, clear communication and minimising disruption. This project reflects our continued commitment to leading complex remediation schemes that put people, safety and compliance first.

Building Reinstatement Valuations (BRVs) are a vital part of responsible block management, yet they're often overlooked.

Without an accurate valuation, buildings can be left underinsured, exposing leaseholders, freeholders, and Right to Manage companies to financial shortfalls, legal risk and unnecessary stress if the worst happens.

At Pure Block Management, compliance and protection sit at the heart of what we do. As our Compliance Manager, George Baker explains, keeping reinstatement valuations up to date isn't just about meeting legal obligations. It's about protecting homes, investments and peace of mind.
